A reality check (again) for some of our fanbase, who become orgasmic every time we sign another loan player.

Hot on the heels of Chelsea shafting is over Conor Gallagher, Josh Cullen has been very honest about where his career ambitions lie. In summary, he’s a West Ham player and he wants to play for West Ham in the Premier League.

You can't really blame him for that.

i do feel if we can get to summer without getting relegated, we'll have a big summer and be looking at top 6 next season. how many players are leaving? - i'd say about 8 to 10. that's a lot of wage freed up, mostly from injury prone players. if we can get steady players who can play 40 games a season, with bowyer as the manager i can see us being a lot further up the league.

    That’s a massive “if”.

The vast majority of the players we signed last summer are not good enough.

The first signing will tell us a lot about what the ESI budget is.

He added the rider "as long as I'm a West Ham player", so I haven't lost hope of signing him. To do that would require Bowyer to convince ESI that Cullen is an essential part of his plans, and then if they make a realistic bid we'd see how much Spam want to keep him. The next step would be to change the wage structure to sell the club to him, and show our ambition. A lot of ifs there, but it would allay fears about ESI.

i'd say anything between £1m and £2m is fair for cullen. we should sign him - the sell on value if he has another 2 or 3 decent seasons will be 4 or 5 times that.

    No chance SIG.

Cullen is a young player, under contract, and already a full international.

We are looking at £8m -£12m in the current market.

He must be on £20,000 a week at West Ham as well. That’s what you have to pay.

Don't see how everyone jumps to the conclusion that if we are looking at a loan signing, that is all we are interested in.

The seige mentality left over from the Ducahatalet days is very ingrained in our fanbase. Why not wait and see who turns up? We offered around 2.5m to Peterborough for a player who will be out of contract in june. So logically, we are not looking for freebies, or simply loans.

If the loans are good enough to keep us in this division OK, we can build in the summer. But I'd still make every effort to get Cullen now, because if Spam go down he's less likely to be available in the summer.

Loan players do not bring stability.

Maybe it's the only way we can bring any quality players in at this time of year.

Not if you’ve got a competitive transfer budget.

Chelsea interested in signing “No Hope” Pope - multiple sources.

We gave him away for an embarrassing £900,000.

It looks like it was only Thomas Driesen and Reams who didn’t rate the England keeper.

This winds me up. We could have got a few years out of him. The most talented goalie we've had since Graham Tutt IMO. :emoticon-0183-swear
