If you mean 10 foot then I'm not sure... we've chased our own arses to get Adams from Southampton and now going up for Gray and I think we're going to fail at this as well. This might be our only option at the end of the day,
Imagine the uproar on here if we brought back Wilks. But because Hull have signed him they’re ‘showing ambition’
Ambition as in they want a striker/winger, they have indentified one and gone out and got him, that is the third signing they have brought in. Personally I wanted him to get a go with us, I didn't think we should have sold him but what do I know. My original comment was said a little tongue in cheek, what's up with everyone tonight BTW I would have him back ahead of Billy Sharp
Fair do's, I should have probably worded my original post differently and asked , does it show real ambition signing Wilks though.
Leeds game today on Sky and commentary team: Leeds had lined up Adams in October sensing Nketiah was going to be recalled. January arrives and Southampton and Adams deal not as smooth as Orta expected. We’re in talks with three other teams but still confident we can get the Adams deal done. It answers lots of questions that at least we were looking early but and a big but.... The entire league can see how desperate we are for a striker, they’re all having us over a barrel, it really is terrible forward planning
I do believe we are genuinely looking at the likes of Che Adams, I think Orta and Radz have made a humongous mistake in allowing us to be left with one striker, what team is not going to extort the max out of us knowing the position we’re in. I don’t believe we are anywhere near ffp rules, I just can’t see it. Another thing I thought was bad of us, Clarke was told on Christmas Day he would be sent back, if true the timing was poor and unnecessary
Wasn't Costa sold to us as someone who could play across the front & #10 too? I believe that was part of his announcement. And yet, all we've seen in half a season is a few goals & a few crosses. Bugger all else. He's part of the reason we only have 1 recognised striker - he was supposed to be another one! And yet Bielsa played Harrison as CF ahead of him! And is it the club's fault if Roberts is falling apart. He was bought as a £3m striker as I recall. Costa in particular annoys me. Cost twice as much as Bamford, virtually zero return from him, and yet it's Bamford that gets disproportionate, relentless criticism (apart from a small oasis of hope when he was on a streak).
I’d like to see Harrison on the right and Alioski in the left. Costa has been totally ineffective. From what I’ve seen of him Poveda would make more of an impact - hope we get him.
I think part of the problem is Bielsa deciding to drop the number 10 position this season, I would have liked to see Costa in that role before deciding I've seen enough of him. Harrison is twice the player Costa is yet Harrison receives more flack. I have been a big supporter of Bamford and his defending from the front but that ends today. If we want defending from the front with the same amount of missed gilt edged chances then we might as well buy a defender and stick the number 9 shirt on him. For me Bamfords days are numbered, he isn't ever going to be prolific enough and with the rest of the attack falling apart we can't afford a striker who misses so many chances and he seriously cannot head a ball. Harrison was on fire on the right against Arsenal, Alioski strays offside too much but with no other contender he at least would be an okay choice. I'm not sure on what role Klich should be playing, is it box to box because if it is he isn't creating enough either.
