just watched McCann's Press Conference where he mentions that there are 2 'big players' out for the Derby game (he would not mention names). Im a bit concerned that Bowen will be one of them. Not because he's injured, but because there is a deal for him to be sold in the pipeline. Hope I'm wrong!

My first thought was “oh ****” they‘re resting him to prevent an injury so it doesn’t **** up a sale

If the player coming in tomorrow (alleged) is the lad from Peterborough then it appears Ehabs willing to spend £2.5 million at least (that his release clause, I believe), just wonder why, is it to soften a blow, Phil Buckingham has commented, if Bowen was to stay till the summer then Ehab would get nowhere near the £20 million that's been mentioned, so I think the concern expressed above, is not misplaced.

If, if, if.... it is Maddison .... and lets not get ahead of ourselves... its a really decent squad forming isn't it...?

Keeper. Long (but not sure about his back up)
Defence. Lichaj, Elder, JDW, Burke, Taffazoli, Pennington, McGloughlin....................................................... Kingsley..... MacDonald..
Midfield. Lopes, Irvine, Kane, Toral, Stewart, Samuleson, Batty ................ Honeyman.
Attack. Bowen, Grosicki, Eaves, Magennis, KLP, Balogh...... Bowler

Then add Greaves and Sheaf (on loan).... some really exciting signs...

I've seen this story popping up in a few places and it is gathering a little pace, I've no idea if it is true but IF it is I'm almost embarassed by our board for making such an offer. Don't get me wrong, I'd love your board to be stupid enough to accept it but it just shows our desperation to take us over the line on the cheap. We're in a prime position (as we were last season) to go up in the autos yet our board screw around in January with offers that are never going to be accepted.
These stories start somewhere, probably from the ex Hull City employee you have working for you. The £3m offer is an insult and makes Leeds look cheap, very cheap.

Got to agree there, but you have to start the bidding somewhere. It isn't going to happen if he doesn't want to leave though, but if he did :emoticon-0105-wink:

It won’t be us signing Maddison. More likely that Chelsea lad we where linked with on loan to play AMC. Ukwake is it?

I can’t see Ehab handing the keys for promotion to Leeds because that is essentially what he would be doing, when that 3 million could stay here and get us somewhere near. We could easily sell Bowen for 10-15 million in the summer.

Why do we tell that idiot journo we have bid 4 million loan fee for Phillips and 20 million if we go up. Essentially I think someone’s been talking at Leeds at board level, and we’ve knocked them back.

That’s from a couple of days ago when Charlton were the only club to meet the release clause. 2 other Championship clubs have since matched the release. It could be us as we did register interest in Maddison in the Summer. McCann does like signing someone he’s worked with previously. Elder/Silva/Samuelson etc

As GLP said, that's an older tweet.

Given Grant's penchant for former players and £2.5m being not that much in terms of transfer spend (I know, I know, Allams won't pay that etc), it's more likely now than it was 2 days ago.

Uwakwe was touted as an 18 month loan deal, that's quite unusual for a Championship club and would carry a pretty sizeable loan fee anyway, especially for an untested youth player.

Good to see fans have already decided he's no good before he's even played.

****ing unbelievable. I hate our fanbase sometimes.

I imagine the facebook group is ****ting all over him because he's not scored 50 goals every game before joining us.
Read between the lines Quill. I'm not saying he's no good. I hope he is & can adapt to the league we're in.

The video posted shows, what, 70-75 passages of play with him on the ball.

I can only comment on what I saw on that video.

Many of the clips ( 90 % would be my estimate) showed him beating a man (or two) and he still ended up in a cul de sac with no effort on goal developed or a chance generated for a team mate.

Fancy footwork - yes. Ability to make an impact in the Championship ? I wonder.

It's a tougher league than most of the places he's experienced so far.

I hope I'm wrong. As I say, I only have a highly edited video to base my opinion on. My comment was based on that, not my blinkered hopes.

Don’t need fancy dandy’s in this league.

Big Solid back four drilled to perfection.

Hudds and Ash types in the middle.

Two clever wide men and Keep Bowen.

Play offs guaranteed.

Allams OUT
