You should drink Guinness. Far less likely to get an upset stomach on it.Cheers Chief, what's the difference between lager and ale?
Soft play?Just at soft play with the sprog, easily over 300 kids here. The worst experience imaginable.

That’s a fallacy. Been up there a few times and the ale was non existent.
Best ale is made in the Midlands.
Went up there on a golf trip a few years ago. Stayed in a village near drax power station. Went to a few places in an around the area. Non of the pubs had cask ale. Found one in a small town the one night which had cask John smiths. My mate who is from there loves coming down here as everywhere has cask ale.Timmy Taylors Landlord is brewed in Keighley. Which is in Yorkshire.
This renders your comment null and void!
I really really miss draught Bass
the bottled version of the beer can be seen in Manets "A bar at the Folies Bergere"

Soft play?
Fuxdat?
Im imagining a massive ballpit and nuff parents trying in vain to get their kids out of it.![]()
its not the same imo since production was moved to Marstons though that is nothing in comparison to the drop in quality in Marstons own Pedigree when they moved it from the Marstons brewery to Banks brewery .There's a pub that we occasionally visit that is renowned for it. They've got it on gravity behind the bar, it is a superb pint.
I was given a slab of cans at Christmas but I only had one, didn't feel like it at the time. Will come back to it.
It's not as good as straight from the barrel by any stretch.
How come you can't get it?

yep it was brewed under the Burton Union method though tbf Marstons use a similar system and presumably are using it to brew the Bass for ABV (spit) . Not sure if they still use the live culture but very much doubt it in this day & age .The old Bass was a great pint. I think it was brewed under the Burton method, which had the live culture still in the barrel.
unless I’m wrong, that method is banned now? The old Bass had to be allowed to settle for 3-4 days before tapping it. A dodgy pint of Bass was the best laxative known to man!
Honestly there was no ale anywhere. I was stunned as you associate Yorkshire with people in flat caps supping ale. There should have been some Black Sheep round that neck of the woods, surely? That's brewed round there.
Not denying the Midlands has some great breweries mind. I know you like your Bathams and Holdens(?) was always great beer iirc.
Still is .. have a boozer round here with it on draught. It’s marvellous. I don’t think the method is banned either as bathams is made the same way I believe. The old Bass was a great pint. I think it was brewed under the Burton method, which had the live culture still in the barrel.

I don’t like holdens. Banks is good. Bathams, enville, wye valley. Ansells used to be brewed in Worcester.
