He knows it will be extended, the only reason it hasn't already, is that he has a new contract offer on the table.
Im not debating it will be extending. It makes zero sense not to regardless of what Bowen wants and will do. Im just saying if you dont do it by 1st Jan you risk losing him and that option becoming worthless if for example Celtic or Rangers could get him to sign a pre contract agreement before you took up that option
As we all know its tough buying “star players” out the championship for big money. While people like Maddison has took off for us. Che Adams has struggled massively for Southampton. You never know what your truely getting until they have arrived in the Premier League
I think he’s a decent lad who will wait until the summer to see if he can play in the PL with us. There aren’t any stand out teams in this league. So we could potentially make the play offs.
He’ll still have plenty of suitors which will keep his price high, especially when you look at some of the one season wonders that have moved to the PL for big money.
Bowen has delivered consistently over 3 seasons now, plus he’s primarily played on the wing.
Bidding for him should start at £25m.

Did JDW sign a new contract recently... seemed to think he had or had one offered. Seems he's another on the 'wanted' list...
It should start at that, but if we go into next season and he hasn't signed a new deal then we won't get anywhere near that, they will wait and get him on a free with a much larger contract offer/singing in fee etc or take him in summer with a smaller transfer fee. We won't won't to accept that at fans but it's how it is. I'd Happily be proved wrong though....
Amazingly the club he is at with only a 5,000 capacity stadium are 4th in the league and could qualify for Europe. Was reading an article about them the other week. City connection with Silva’s assistant during his time at City, Sousa, managing them.

He was their back-up left-back and their first choice has been available for every game since mid-September. This combined with the fact that Stoke don’t currently have a back-up left back, made it a likely move.

Loans still cost money, though, you usually have to pay a fee to take players from other clubs on loan. It's usually only youth or work experience loans that are free.
