It's a fair point and it is like parachuting the population of 20 new City's the size of Hull into the country, then having to fund them.

I guess of the 5 million extra people some will pay tax, but probably there will be a fair percentage drawing welfare also.
But it doesn't stop just at 'a fair % drawing welfare'. They require health care, schooling, homes, jobs, transport etc etc etc...….Then everyone is surprised the services are overwhelmed and under funded.??

Why do you find it so hard to believe? I mean, the info comes direct from the national office of statistics and is based on HMRC data so it's not like some random has made it up. It's as the kids like to say on here FACT!
What was it Aaron Banks said when he helped finance the Leave campaign ?
Don't give people facts they aren't interested in them !

We need working migrants, doesn't matter where they come from, what colour they are or what religion they are, due to the ageing population we need people to work and pay taxes so we can support ourselves as a society. Yes a knock on effect is that we need better infrastructure, and one thing that really doesn't help is 9 years of austerity and cuts to all levels of government which have meant that schools, homes, transport links etc haven't grown at an equal pace to the population.

We have an ageing population with a larger proportion of our population around and above retirement age than ever before. We need people of a working age to be paying taxes to support the services which support our country, without the 3.6m odd EU migrants we'd have an even bigger shortfall in taxes (they contribute c8bn more than they take out) to support our current population. Let's also remember that whilst EU migrants make up only 5% of our population, they make up c10% of our doctors, and c8% of our nurses and midwifes. They are literally supporting the NHS.

Also adding to that people are having less children and children later on in life. The average is 1.7 children per female now.

It didn't help 9 years ago when the pot was empty and the country was mortgaged to the hilt.

This and the fact we are getting much much better at saving and extending lives. Maybe that's the tory master plan, privatise the NHS, kill off the poor and vulnerable and get a handle on our population

On migration, I understand that JC wishes to allow the families of migrants already here to join them. Which might see 2 million come in, in a short space of time. That's probably the size of say 8 Hulls. Totally bonkers and unsustainable.. One reason why I shall be saying Thanks but no thanks.

It's funny how people perceive Labour as the party of debt when this graph shows its the other way around !
People understandably believe what they hear and read, and with the majority of the press acting as a mouthpiece for the tories you can understand why there are a lot of truths not well known

Pretty sure most of the election promises will not be implemented !

Anyone can knock up a graph, pie chart, histogram to show anything they want. It's Lies, Dam Lies and statistics!

My son works for the Department of Works and Pensions so I know what happens when EU citizens come here !
And it isn't how it's portrayed through the media or on TV progs !
I think we live in a world where making up sensational headline grabbing lies are more believable !
