The idea that Brexit is anti establishment is laughable. Mogg, Johnson, Farage are as much establishment as Blair, Cameron and Osborne.

It's two parts of establishment fighting each other.

Which is why when in debate, they simply disagree with the enemy. No matter what their true feelings on any given subject, blue disagrees with red and visa versa. Pointless. Power is everything.

We, the people, have the power to change that, or support that, depending on our views

some people choose not to wield that power though, which is a shame

That’s not actually correct though. It’s not how our political system works

The role of an MP is to represent their constituents, even the ones that didn’t vote for them.

It isn’t their role to deliver any referendums.

If you don’t like the current political system then you should look through their manifestos and see which one is suggesting it’s changed to one you’d prefer.
Thank you for having a voice of reason. This "will of the people" thing is the biggest political lie of all. MPs are there to look after the interests of the people. All of them.

Interference from the US and Russia seems part and parcel of our politics these days.

Don't exclude the Chinese either.

They’re really not. Read the manifesto alongside the Grey Book that details every penny of costing. Labour’s Policies are similar to those implemented in many Countries across Europe which are considered Centre Left.
Listen to what they say & read the Policies rather than what the Tax Evading MSM want you to believe they say.

Im no fan of any tax evaders and would not get suckered in ( hopefully). I did vote Labour last time round but won’t be this time. I just feel the party has been let down. You can’t go through a big part of your political life voting against your own labour government then when you become leader expect them to follow you. It’s as though it’s my way or no other way and if we don’t get elected then fine. As for Boris Johnson how the hell he ended up as PM is frightening really. I would just like all votes to count in the end. I know it’s not easy but then our last few years is surely reaching out for some form of political reform.
Have a good Sunday Ben. Your views are worth noting. I might have a read..

But this is too easily corrupted into their own self interest.

I think that Napoleon fella might have had a point...

"China is a sleeping lion. Let her sleep, for when she wakes she will shake the world."

We don't have any power to wield, Den. That's my very point.

You go ahead and vote for the bits you like in their manifesto's.

The bits you like won't happen and that's been proven over and over ad nauseam.

I need to believe in the people that I vote for and there is no ****ing way I can do that.

You mean the 48% as well as the 52%, of people who voted, along with those who didn’t vote at all?

But this is too easily corrupted into their own self interest.

Stopping 2nd jobs would go a long way to stopping that as would stopping donations from those who reside in the UK but claim their true home is overseas for tax purposes (non doms), exempting them paying tax on income received offshore – as well as those convicted of tax offences.

Being made to name people attending Donor Parties would also go towards way to ending it. For example it would end Groups such as the “Tory Leaders Group” giving a private audience with Ministers if they donate £50k or more.

Perhaps also banning former ministers from working as lobbyists for a minimum of five year after resigning their post would help in minimising the corruption.

If only a Party was committing to implementing these changes in their Manifesto.

I’m sad you’ve given up

I presume as you don’t like the way the system works that you voted Lib Dem before when they were wanting to bring in proportional representation?
