OK, the new manager is in - where do we go from here?

Logic would say Harris has a massive task on his hands if he wants to do something more radical straight away which is probably unlikely, but there are players at the club who could adapt over a very short period if the coaching chose that route.

Glatzel, Ward, Tomlin, Murphy, Hoilett, Pack, Ralls, Bennett and Nelson can all play with the ball on the floor, and if we could get Reid back from Fulham, that's the nucleus of a good footballing side.

I wouldn't hold your breath though - it's likely to be a consolidation period, not radical change.

Agree with you OS. From what I saw of Harris at Millwall he could have been Warnock v2.0.

I see a few Millwall boys have pretty much confirmed it too.

Just got to hope that with a marginally more talented squad and potentially a bit more cash than he's used to help can begin to effect some change and mix our play up a bit more.

I genuinely believe that when you look at our last few matches (Jack game excluded) we actually were starting to play a little bit.

It has to be evolution rather than revolution.

A solid defense, a holding midfielder and a bit more football to the end of the season.

Anything else risks taking players out of their comfort zone and into a gameplan they can't play.

The queston is, where does the new Neil see us heading?

January ins and outs may give us a clue.

It was not that in depth and insightful but enjoyable.

He was such good value, worked hard, seemed to be mutually liked by everyone then in the blink of an eye he’s gone.

As I said to my lad, I’ll miss him more than I can imagine. An unbelievable character; marmite type but was brilliant for the club.

Thinking back to the summer dealings, I think you could be right about Reid to Fulham being a done deal.

Not going to write Harris off before a ball is even kicked by the team under his direction. It's not the short term issues, managers come and go, I'm more concerned about where the Tan/Choo/Dalman collective is taking us.

There's no doubt Tan's money has sustained us even to the point of saving us and keeping us alive, but I'm not convinced that between them they possess the nous to achieve longer term sustained success. Even Dalman who is supposed to be the "football man" on the board has shown some glaring lacks of judgement in the past.

His saving grace was the appointment of Warnock - he was the right man at the right time after the Slade/Trollope disaster. Since then, some of the decisions taken by the transfer comittee as to player aquisition have been horrendus and a complete waste of money.

Therein lies the success/failure of a club. You can't be right all the time but for me the balance has tipped the other way and it's cost us.

Time will tell, I'm not writing him off yet but I cant help but feel this was the cheap option the board have taken as opposed to the "right" option. More hoof ball it is then!

I think one of the areas that Warnock was praised for when he turned the club around after the Slade/Trollope era was the complete overhaul of the academy. Well if he did it's been no use to us and never would be with his philiosophy of continuously using seasoned professionals "of a certain age" regardless of other options.

We have some who could be blooded right now, and being prepared to wait for youngsters to come through the system is a viable option as long as time wasn't a limiting factor to ambition. Warnock didn't have the luxury of time and probably his ambition was focused on the here and now to the detriment of the club.
