Who says it was aimed at you? Read the last few pages and almost everyone has said a version of 'it can't just be a loan' and now we yes, have rumours that you're passing on, but the broader point was that these things would happen with or without you because they have left it open to speculation.

And actually, I haven't speculated much or at all, perhaps less than you ('it's still a takeover' etc). I've only asked one thing (what are FPP getting from this) and that was jumped on by the angry mob despite the fact that it remains the unanswered question that generates the most needless and potentially harmful speculation and rumour.

If you look through my posts since the takeover, I'm open minded and hopeful. But you continue with whatever, I'm apparently not allowed to post my thoughts.

I didn't say it was.

It doesn't alter the fact that you speculate as much as anyone else.

Almost every post includes some degree of speculation.

Like I said, it's inevitable that this will happen. That's why I said that it harms the club more to allow those rumours to keep doing the rounds rather than put the whole thing to bed one way or the other. Whatever your stance on whether we're entitled to know, the fact that it's all anyone is talking about even now tells the story. It's certainly not settled in peoples' minds.

I feel that the real problem here is that by not clarifying, they keep the razor thin patience our fans have constantly close to the edge. It's inevitable that if no progress is made on the 'takeover' (or whatever it actually ends up being) this will lead to a massive (and possibly unfair) backlash from fans who expect more, because our fans are so tightly wound and instead of being able to enjoy this for what it is, we have dozens of posts essentially saying 'It can't just be a loan...' in that nervous, semi-pleading way that you might turn to a member of the band and say 'this thing can't actually sink... can it?'

My heart says there's more to it, my head says... why bother announcing at this juncture if there's still an ongoing negotiation? And why not make that clear, as it would obviously mean that they could have deferred podcasts and other questions until after the next part of the negotiations.

I read 'negotiations are ongoing' as just that this is an indefinite, open negotiation with a party who may one day be interested, and that could one day come to the table with an offer to buy us again, but right now, the first part is concluded and there will be little advancement in the near future.

All of which is fine. Again, I wish they would be clearer about what this deal is, because the downside of these 'ongoing' rumours is that when nothing happens for the rest of the season, people will be up in arms based on not very much. This is why I always said it was common sense that you clarify what has happened. People say 'this is a business, we have no right', but the same people are perpetuating the rumours, idly speculating, and actively whipping other fans up to expect more. It's a football club, it has hundreds of thousands of people watching it as stakeholders, you can't expect as an owner to bluff through something as momentous as this, that potentially enacts the club's fourth takeover in two decades.

Think we should all just be taking a step back at this point and letting the dust settle, but it would be easier if they'd just say 'this is what the rough arrangement is' and leave it at that.
announcing something had the effect of calming most of the hysteria down - maybe a PR coup from Methven allowing talks to move on in relative privacy?

What I'm saying is that even if it seems calm now, nerves are still fraught, and the theories abound over the last 10 pages are ample evidence that people are still desperate for whatever this is to be something 'more'. That's just on here, let alone the hail of ****e on RTG.

Now we have rumours that actually, there is an ongoing negotiation. How many weeks or months will it be before people start to get angry if that doesn't come to fruition, particularly if January doesn't go well? Nailed on, I guarantee that it will end up with expectations being too high about what comes next with FPP.

I'm not one to get angry but I must admit I am getting frustrated but that's only probably because of results... We will soon find out in January if it was for speakers and a lift or that was just to not get other clubs to rip us off.

Wish we could have more clarity about the FPP deal, but I would imagine that there would be very strict NDA's involved in that. By the way SD & CM have managed this though they have made their position untenable. If we don't progress, these lads will have to take over.

When or if this becomes a full takeover I really cant see fpp wanting to keep sd and cm on they really have lost control of this club now

Holy crap, that's amazing, but I guarantee that as it basically would mean them enforcing the debt that Donald owes the club on top, there's not a cat in hell's chance that he won't pay.
