I've just had a short but specific message that 'negotiations are ongoing'.

Some people may have noticed I've kept away from the speculation recently ...

... but this is first hand from someone who would know.

It would explain why Donald is avoiding having to respond to any questions imo.

His recent 'off the cuff' comments have only made things worse and I think he realises that now.

That's my guess, and I can't say any more.

So this '£10 million loan' is basically the Americans putting down a deposit?

Interesting how uncomfortable salmon pants got when asked about it. Led to him explaining the difference between SAFC and Madrox instead of answering the question directly.

That would appear to be what he is intimating. My head is up my arse at the moment, but thinking about it, if it was to be a loan, Sartori could have done that. There just has to be more to it, either that or I am setting myself up for another massive fall. That said, if I was a betting man, my money would be on me hitting the pavement. Told you my head is up my arse at the moment.

That's an excellent point. Particularly impressive coming from somebody with their head up their arse <laugh>

Jack ross could have stayed and brought in another 6 players and it wouldnt have made a jot of difference.
He was a negative ninny who played hoofball.
PP.has inherited the awful mess he left behind and to be fair he rarely gets more than 3 days between games.
Very difficult to instil your philosophy, practice and refine etc when games are coming at you
That ross left behind a clearly unfit team of mainly dwarves doesnt help. Add expensive non scoring strikers..
The break should help immensely and after that we can get a clearer picture if PP will cut the mustard.
I bet he won't. Pointless sacking Ross and replacing him with Parkinson when we have the same recruitment team still here.

Agree. I'm still in the 'there has to be more to it' camp. 'Negotiations Ongoing' explains why SD is absent and CM has to be squirrelly when its clear that clarification is needed. The downside to negotiations ongoing is that maybe there is not (yet) any underlying agreement beyond the 9M. Its just weird that if negotiations are ongoing, why put in 9M 'investment/loan' during those negotiations. Maybe SD pointed out that if the extra funds were not put in immediately there might be further damage to the product that FPP were eventually interested in buying. As they did in fact put in 9M for some reason or other, even if its just a loan, it leads me to still believe that they must still be very interested, else they would have just walked and we could have got the loan from Sartori as you pointed out.

My heart says there's more to it, my head says... why bother announcing at this juncture if there's still an ongoing negotiation? And why not make that clear, as it would obviously mean that they could have deferred podcasts and other questions until after the next part of the negotiations.

I read 'negotiations are ongoing' as just that this is an indefinite, open negotiation with a party who may one day be interested, and that could one day come to the table with an offer to buy us again, but right now, the first part is concluded and there will be little advancement in the near future.

All of which is fine. Again, I wish they would be clearer about what this deal is, because the downside of these 'ongoing' rumours is that when nothing happens for the rest of the season, people will be up in arms based on not very much. This is why I always said it was common sense that you clarify what has happened. People say 'this is a business, we have no right', but the same people are perpetuating the rumours, idly speculating, and actively whipping other fans up to expect more. It's a football club, it has hundreds of thousands of people watching it as stakeholders, you can't expect as an owner to bluff through something as momentous as this, that potentially enacts the club's fourth takeover in two decades.

Think we should all just be taking a step back at this point and letting the dust settle, but it would be easier if they'd just say 'this is what the rough arrangement is' and leave it at that.

Coming from you that's probably the most ironic hypocritical post I've ever seen on a forum.

You've done nothing, in your post, but idly speculate and stir up dust.

As it happens I'm not speculating, I'm posting information I've been given that I chose to relay to interested people.

I suppose they announce at this juncture because people would have seen the share issue on companies house and started speculating anyway, so they preempted that by announcing the investment but saying they wouldn't comment further, probably then hoping to continue negotiations without as much constant speculation

Maybe the owners had a look on social media and forums (SMB?) and saw how much people were wetting their knickers and thought they would announce something??

Who says it was aimed at you? Read the last few pages and almost everyone has said a version of 'it can't just be a loan' and now we yes, have rumours that you're passing on, but the broader point was that these things would happen with or without you because they have left it open to speculation.

And actually, I haven't speculated much or at all, perhaps less than you ('it's still a takeover' etc). I've only asked one thing (what are FPP getting from this) and that was jumped on by the angry mob despite the fact that it remains the unanswered question that generates the most needless and potentially harmful speculation and rumour.

If you look through my posts since the takeover, I'm open minded and hopeful. But you continue with whatever, I'm apparently not allowed to post my thoughts.

Maybe, but if so, we should be worried about their ability to run a business, because if there's a big deal on the horizon, you certainly shouldn't be jumping at shadows.

I know your circumstances but having your head up your arse helps the rest of us, and public decency.
