When supposedly protesting against the 'elites', it's probably not a good idea to then stage a protest in a mostly working class area.

You can't condone the kicking they got afterwards but what a bunch of middle class tossers. Surely an electric metro system must be one of the most environmentally friendly ways of getting thousands, no hundred of thousands of people to and from work. The general population will tolerate this kind of protest with a stoical shrug of the shoulders but what the commuters action showed is they won't when it starts to impact on their lives, income and well being.

London has slightly redeemed itself today.

How does the song go... "I believe the children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way"..... WTF

So we actually were enviromentally friendly back in the olden days. I thought we were wicked polluters?

So is this really doing good for the environment or do they just want the money?

If they were so keen to do something it may have been better to start here.

It’s absolute bollocks isn’t it, many modern diesel cars emit lower emissions than the equivalent petrol variant.

And while we’re on the subject, electric cars, where the **** are they going to dump all of the spent batteries - each battery would probably have the equivalent amounts of plastic in them as a million ****ing carrier bags, and how much higher will the emissions be from the power plants that are supplying the charge to all of these electric cars?

The next environmental crisis will be how to deal with old solar panels. :emoticon-0105-wink:
