It's exactly like some of the press releases that I've seen (albeit slightly lower profile).. There was probably a brief and and an article written based on it - then the 'interviewee' just ok's the content.
Yeah, you're right actually.

I posted similar to this on RTG but these lads have invested this money into the infrastructure of the club. It's a no lose for them. IF SD and co bugger up, and they takeover because of that, then they have already put the plans in place to build foundations. IF SD and co get us up, then i can see them going the next step knowing they already put in place the first building block.
Billionaires as powerful as these lads do not spend months on talks and DD to gain some interest on a loan to a Division 1 club. That's a fact
Well you’ve just saved me writing something very similar.
And to quote Riv ‘it’s happening it’s happening **** me it’s happening’.
Bring it on.

What surprised me was how little land the club actually owns around the ground, see page 20 of the report, it would appear that we don't even own the car park outside the East Stand.
If these Americans do have plans for development I think they need to talk to the Council and get them onside

Putting 2 and 2 together (from what ive read and heard) is this not part of the reason (possibly) for bringing the O'briens on board?..fingers in pies in and around the sheepfolds and all that

One of the best posts I've seen on here mate.

I don't want attention mate, just love the club and the supporters I spend my days with.
What's your thoughts on how you think a deal is done? Weve gone from legacy plans to a quick hushed announcement through the local paper with no acknowledgement from the club whatsoever. Plus msd taking no shares or role in the football club, it all feels a very small thing compared to what we were eled to believe was happening

Its pretty strange how that has happened and how nobody is really questioning it.

Possibly for contacts etc but really not sure, do they have a connection to the small scrap yard?
The main landowners are the Council / HCA with Edward Thompsons still owning their site
I'm pretty sure that any landowner in that area will be holding out for the best possible price, and who can blame them. This is where the Council is important and the use of compulsory purchase orders to get a large enough packet of land together to make development worthwhile.
Time will tell I suppose

There's already plans for a footbridge by the council marra. Not sure when mind. We should have had one built already
Do we need one? One or two games a fortnight, busy a couple of hours before a match and one hour after. Seems a lot of expense to me.

This wouldnt just be for the SOL, there is a swimming pool, a hotel, possible plans for an indoor Ski slope retail and bars would go there if it were all re-developed, if you look at the stadium park plan they have already delivered and a lot of what has been proposed...in addition to the SOL been multi-purpose also

I'd say people are tired of questioning everything all the time.

Conspiracy theories are all very well but surely it's time to pull together and get behind the club.

There's absolutely no way this news is bad for the club so I'll happily wait to see what happens next.

As far as I'm concerned this will be a long term involvement and, for the moment, there's very little effect the Americans can have ...

.... anyways it's match day and that's all I'll be concerned with today tbh.

And in what way would pedestrian bridge help? We already have a swimming pool, hotel and the Beacon of Light and the Town Bridge copes quite easily. No mate priorities, city centre and housing first. sort them then the luxury addons

It would be a direct link from the new VAUX set up, where again there will be all new shops, offices, retail etc. It will make it all come together, the bridge is slightly off the track that would combine both the stadium park and the VAUX village

Depends if you want any development to be a success, ease of access to facilities is vital.
Linking the Vaux and Sheepfolds would appear to be sensible to me, especially if you can get a developer to partially fund it.
Of course it depends what goes on the sheepfolds, but if office type development then access to the town centre for staff must be a win win

Having now finished reading through the entire 'Significant Investment' thread, on RTG, I can't help but wonder just how much of the NHS budget is being wasted on anti-depressants for some of those idiots.

Personally, I'd just let them get on with cutting their wrists - imho, the world would then be a better place and the health service would have more cash to devote to more deserving cases.

so why dwell on it then, just ignore RTG and don't bring their issues over here.

What's your problem with FPP putting millions into our club.
Why should anyone question their intentions.
We should celebrate the fact they have come onboard and are starting with the academy and scouting structure to build solid foundations for the future.
I just don't understand some of the cynicism of some of our so called supporters.

We don't know what was meant to be happening that's the point it was all speculation mainly in the media

In donalds last podcast mid August he says that we are close to investment from a preferred partner which is very exciting which means we can do the things we've wanted to to. He also says in that podcast that he wants these investors to help take us to the next level with long term sustainable investment not built on sand

It seems like he's achieved what he initially wanted. Now not one fan knows exactly what the long term plans are with MSD as its a confidential agreement

These facts might upset a few fans but I'm sure they will just make their own **** up anyways
