Morning all. Grey and damp and far from inviting outside. Do I consider putting my heating on low, or go and find a jumper? In the evenings go outside and you can smell wood smoke, so I guess that my English neighbour has his wood burner alight. Most of us have some form of central heating, but prefer to wait until it gets really cold before turning it on. Enjoy what you must do.
Funny how here in the the UK with better quality of housing insulation we feel colder... and have the heating on the timer .Infrance in the country we bear the cold differently....
Once you get some heat into thick stone walls it seems to retain it better. Even without the sun we are 19°C at present, so not too bad.
Unfortunately too many democracy deniers in the last parliament, hopefully they may have shot themselves well and truly in the foot. Those trying to thwart the will of the people have lost.
The will of the people was a hung parliament. I am surprised you are not out with the Masterful Company of Ditch Diggers today.
In the past it was possible to ask people to keep politics to the political threads Frenchie - in their absence it is no longer possible. Is it not time to go back to allowing them - particularly with an election only 6 weeks away. If we don't do that then politics is simply going to creep onto other threads - better to keep it all in one place.
No, the will of the people was to leave the awful EU. Some MPs decided to promote their own selfish views rather than that of their constituents. The electorate will now punish those no doubt.
I think we have had our bit of fun at the expense of Boris, so back to no political comments on this thread.
Now the clique has hopefully disbanded it is time to revive the political threads, I've missed having fun with the hapless gormless Corbyn and the wishy washes.
Afternoon All. Sombre announcement in that Mrs Fez has been diagnosed with a relatively rare form of cancer (50x more likely to develop breast cancer) which has developed from a, 95% of the time, benign problem. According to her specialist she has been "properly hit with the unlucky stick". Her GP is stunned. We're still travelling sideways at the moment. Treatment plan in place: CT scan next week followed by surgery. Hopefully stage 1B, with no additional treatment post surgery but if it's got to the lymph nodes then it'll be a stage 3 and radiation and a drain will be required. There we are. It is what it is. Others are going through much worse and her prognosis is relatively very optimistic. In other news: Southampton ticket arrived this morning.
