I actually feel a bit sorry for Methven. If either of them are obstructing or have ****ed up a deal it'll be Donald, but whilst he has seemingly taken a bit of a huff and decided not to speak to us any more, poor old Methven is having to face the music at pre arranged talk ins! He must he dreading doing it knowing he'll be asked but probably not able to say much at all

His job is literally meant to be PR though. Admittedly the amount of times he’s slagged the fans off, you would never realise it but still....

Do you think Kildare Mackem on the smb is him? It’s clearly not a Sunderland fan and someone who thinks he’s better than anyone else on there. Pedantic, condescending etc. I think it genuinely could be. Apparently he used to post on Oxford message boards, arguing with all the supporters

Who knows, but strange name to choose?

There aren't many facts flying around but we do know that the Americans created a company to do with the club.

We also know it was registered at Companies House using the SOL as the company's address.

As far as I'm aware there's no need for investors to do that.

I'm not even sure if it's permissable.

In my opinion the Americans are much more involved than just throwing a few million at the club and seeing if it sticks.

Being the sharp successful businessmen they are there's absolutely no doubt they'll have a clear plan.

If I'm wrong, no doubt, I'll be reminded ad infinitum.

I don't think permission is required to use an address when registering a company. However,if the entity whose address is used is not willing they can apply to Companies House to have the address changed.
I wouldn't read too much into it. At the commencement of negotiations over a possible deal,it may have suited them to get the acquiring entity set up and ready. It may have been required for pre-talk arrangements, heads of agreement,NDA's etc. If the deal doesn't materialise,it will be a simple enough job to either change the address or just allow the company to go dormant and then to be struck off.
To be honest, if that's the only definate info. we have about all this,it's not much of a basis to use for any optimism.

They could have used the SPV for investment. They probably didn't based on the chat from the club/fanzines about a takeover, but they would continue using that in theory if they were still interested in acquiring any shares.

FPP limited will just have been the entity they want to use in their dealings with the club, theres nothing we can really read into it except that they were clearly at one point far enough down the line to start considering logistics and paying for professional services in relation to the project.

Who knows who he is marra.....

He wouldn't answer when I repeatedly asked him if he had been to a lads game....

Not CM I wouldn't think marra....

If I had to guess, I'd say he isn't Methven. I thought some of his info was interesting early on, but some of it is untrue enough that it would be crazy to say if he knew the reality.

It's weird how defensive he (Kildare) gets, when anyone slags off the likes of Conor McLaughlin or Flanagan. Says that they were in promoted teams so are obviously great League ones players.

Seems to have an issue when the recruitment is criticised.

I see the Echo are still running with a 5.40pm tweet on Sunday 27th October from Phil Smith:

Still the case to the best of my knowledge, Ian.
Had expected it to happen last week but conversations late on Friday were v positive that it’s coming to a close soon.
Will keep updating as best as I can

I'm bored shirtless with all not, any optimism of it happening went weeks ago

I’m sure he posted on the Oxford boards. I think his name was lundinsponytail.

Not sure if it’s him on the SMB though. The spelling mistakes are an annoying affectation like.

I really don't believe that to be the case.

Even if it were true there's no way the Americans would do it without permission.

They've no need to use the SOL as an address unless there's a good reason to do so.
