Did you know that when bees sting you they don't realise that they're taking one for the team. It's only because our skin is so tough (relative to a bee) that their stinger gets stuck and they can't pull out without ripping apart. If a bee were defending against other bugs, or lizards or birds it could sting multiple times and go on living.
