I've just had, 5 minutes ago, a message regarding the takeover.

The final details are being arranged such as the phrasing of the announcement, terms of reference of those involved and the titles of resident staff.

It's all positive and, as I've said before, nothing can stop it happening.

Haway Sunderland, this could be our time.

In the meantime what on earth happened to that latest Newcastle takeover that was reported recently?

Splendid.

I take your point mate and its well thought out and well made.

However, as someone who's endured years of abuse from posters and Mods alike, I have to reserve the right to ridicule them.

I've been off RTG, since September, yet the people who apparently wanted to see the back of me are continually on here to see what I have to say.

People like Plank contribute absolutely nothing yet relentlessly snipe away at people who post threads about SAFC ...

... the only reason the website exists.

**** them mate, they're a bunch of sad tossers who continue to prove it day after day.
Years of abuse or years of debate and healthy discussion and laughter ? ? Someone who gave as good as he got and who dished it out as well as took it ?
You need to move on. You are better than slagging them off on here. I spoke up for you over there, took a ban, and objected to the mod you have an issue with. I had an issue with him too.
When I joined this forum I stated I would not criticise that forum and I don’t believe I have. You need to do the same.
It’s tiresome and you are better than that.
Thanks for your info but move on.

****ing class. Not even arsed if it isn't a full takeover, just getting these people to the table will be massive. Get the feeling we have to get ourselves promoted to really feel the benefit, but with a decent squad and a manager who knows how to do it in this league that really shouldn't be an issue. If they're at the table then they aren't going anywhere else, we can get some funding for now (limited in this league but we shouldn't need much), they'll have business contacts we can only dream of. Here's hoping for a positive statement tomorrow. I've got a 5 year old lad, I made sure his first game was v Swansea because it was going to be our last PL game and I didn't know when we'd be back, didn't want him growing up and maybe even becoming an adult without ever seeing it. I'm now hoping I'll give him a club with a chance of competing in the top flight to support, that's all you can ask for. Just get this over the line lads!

I reckon your looking at North of £700 million to buy them, overhaul the squad and get them possibly pushing for a European place to keep them quiet.

No chance anyone would consider it

Correct- there monthly maintenance cost is massive- Ashley will sell once ground crumbling (3years)

It does generally seem more pleasant and civilised. Which can't be a bad thing :)

Its decent if a little slow- some hearts of gold posters on smb though don't let some trolls on pf colour the mainly quality posts across the board

Yes please let it happen, going to spend tomorrow with me Dad and 3 year old grandson hoping it’s a day to remember

You seem to have a balanced view on all of this mate ...

... as far as I'm concerned it's a takeover.

If it was simply an investment of funds they would have much less influence.

As it happens Donald, and Methven, have helped present us with a huge opportunity.

I take my hat off to them and choose to ignore the claims that Short is the driving force.

I just think that if it is true that they were concerned in terms of if how the likes of Leeds struggle to get up (we'd get bigger crowds but their prices are higher, and currently our academy sides are poor so that's maybe a revenue stream that's likely to be curtailed for now) then it would make sense for them to get involved but maybe with a less than 50% stake.

Sensible hat on, they want in and I can only assume Sartori wants out given that he still wants to be in politics in Uruguay. So maybe they just take his 20% for now. Initially anything they put in Donald has to match share for share, but in this league it won't be loads and Donald can afford it. Go up and it would need more money, but there'd be less risk for FPP, so maybe Donald then sells more of the shares. He makes a bit, they get more shares with less risk and he retains some to hopefully cash in when we get to the PL. If/ when we get there Donald cashes out for a well deserved big profit and they take it on in a league they can really maximise profit in.

I might be a mile out, but that makes sense to me

All I can say is that, after the way expectations have been managed down ...

... I think people will pleasantly surprised at the reality.

Donald will recover the high regard he had at the start of last season imo.

When Donald spoke at length to my Dad last season, Dad advised that he was his second favourite chairman! After NQ! He may just about to become his favourite ITHICS
