I've just had, 5 minutes ago, a message regarding the takeover.

The final details are being arranged such as the phrasing of the announcement, terms of reference of those involved and the titles of resident staff.

It's all positive and, as I've said before, nothing can stop it happening.

Haway Sunderland, this could be our time.

In the meantime what on earth happened to that latest Newcastle takeover that was reported recently?

Don't worry I'm sure something will pop up in the press to try and take the shine off our announcement

Great news, hopefully the start of something huge for us.

As for Newcastle, last report was they were talking to Mexicans

I'm sure they'll do what they can to improve the squad but their hands are tied with the wage bill aren't they. They aren't short of a few quid so I doubt it'll be a choice between signing a couple of cheapish players or developing the long term future of the club.

I suspect there may be 1 or 2 going in January too, to make way for incomers. For example, McGeouch was wanted by clubs in the summer, but he said he stayed because he believed he would get more first team football for us this season. So far that hasn't been the case. He may well decide to call it quits.

Maybe it's an awab Mexican?

Can't wait to see the outfits they wear for that one

NUFC is a massive risk tbh, without any bias.

A purchase figure of @ £300K is only the half of it ...

... then there's the Toon army who'll expect better than Ashley managed.

Wasn't that top 10 finishes, Europe and a string of internationals?

I reckon your looking at North of £700 million to buy them, overhaul the squad and get them possibly pushing for a European place to keep them quiet.

No chance anyone would consider it

NUFC is up for sale and there are bound to be buyers for any PL club.

Sadly, for the Mags, Ashley will be there for years to come.

Even worse, the new owners would do no better than Ashley.

Aye I think there's a bit of reshuffling and paying off contracts that we could do if we were on the ball and had the money to do so. We could comfortably move on say Flanagan, Wyke, McGeouch and Ozturk without missing much. If that got us Madison and maybe a quality RB that'd be a good job.
