I think he would get a good reception tbh. In the list of football club owners he is far, far from the worst in that nothing he did was malicious or done without the clubs interests at heart. For me he'll always be remembered as a bloke who wanted to succeed here, who invested a **** load of his own money to try and do so, but who ultimately failed miserably due to a string of dreadful appointments (De Fanti was the most ridiculous because anyone would know that an agent being DoF was likely to fail).
Writing off so much debt meant that you could slightly forgive him for the fall to league one, certainly more than if he'd walked away and left us facing administration and potential bankruptcy, at least he tried in some way to give us a chance to recover from his reign, obviously knew he had failed and was big enough to take most of the hit himself.
If he's now been involved in trying to get these lads on board who have the money and the business knowledge to ensure we should be able to get back to the top flight and maybe even compete there, for me he's certainly done enough to warrant a decent reception if he's interested enough to come back for a game in the future. Like I say, he was a bad owner with hindsight, but not maliciously so and he's tried his best to put it right when others wouldn't have bothered, I certainly wouldn't give him any abuse
