Didn’t look that bad on TV, not much contact, their player completely overreacted to get him sent off. It was a yellow for me

He was off the ground, was nowhere near the ball and made full contact between the ankle and knee. Straight red was correct.

The fact he made that tackle in a place on the pitch where there was absolutely no need at all. Completely wreckless and I hope his team mates and manager have pointed that out to him after the game.

I can’t defend a tackle like that, it was very poor.

It's always easy to say that there was no need to make a tackle after the event, but personally I want my players to try everything they can to win the ball back at all times. Particularly when we're holding onto a lead away from home and they're just starting to build an attack from the back. If you can successfully prevent that you save an awful lot of work for the defence to do.

It may well have been a poor tackle, but I think it's unfair to say it was wrong to even try.

In that area of the pitch the tackle was entirely needless. He ended up leaving 10 men having to fight for 22 minutes plus injury time to secure the result.

Burke - head and shoulders above anyone else with a city shirt on last night .. composed and strong

Elder - might he just be the answer to the left back problems

Toral - there is definitely a play in there ... if only we can keep him fit

Was it the same ref as the Millwall match?

I agree PLT, the tackle was poor, if it had been executed correctly (Alex Bruce style) it was the right thing to do. Particularly on the back of Eze who walked through our midfield without being tackled.
