Seems man city's main men are all ( iirc ) Spaniards. Has done them no harm.
Chelsea's md is a russian woman.
I dont think being english and understanding the game are necessarily mutually inclusive.
It was certainly a disaster for Leeds.
I was trying to draw a distinction between a Harvard educated biz whizz and someone who actually knows the game.

Could be an oxbridge educated hooray henry. Doesnt mean because they are english they are more knowledgable about football.
By all accounts Daniel levy never kicked a football in his life. Damn good football club CEO.
With the greatest of respect I think you are being overly insular in your views.
I bet you voted brexit

These guys won't be stupid elite businessmen who assist with the 25th richest man in the world's money.
No, I get that, I know they are very bright. But, they have no experience of our game, and need the right people..... if not, they won’t be the first very bright people to have misunderstood a business they’ve entered into and fallen foul!

You are doing your usual and running away with yourself. I was suggesting the appointees would need to understand the English game.... not that they necessarily would be English!! I have posted several times on either this forum or the other my admiration for Daniel Levy and how our club could do with the likes of him!
I did vote leave, and am a staunch brexiteer, if that has any relevance to our discussion, which I very much doubt.

All seems to have gone a bit quiet after the echo piece. If they've had that communicated to them then I hope it's literally just a case of dotting the i's and crossing the t's. I'm hopeful it can be announced before Tranmere, give everyone a bit of a boost
Agree.

After the past few weeks I think we all need a lift. Announcing some major investment with the hope of more as and when we progress would give everyone a massive lift.

Hopefully Parkinson gives some of them players a kick up the backside tomorrow morning, we get much more organised and if we start winning games things can turn around very quickly.

If the investment was announced would instantly lift the fans.

Hopefully they've timed it perfectly but I wouldn't bet on it.

I hope he had them in today after yesterday's performance, need to change the culture at the club big time

Aye, but I half expected some other papers would have a brief story about it today, but it still just seems to be the echo that's confident, which has me a bit anxious!

I wouldn't worry too much for that reason, lets face it we are in the 3rd division and aren't exactly newsworthy for the mainstream papers. They may pick up on it when it happens but speculation... don't think so.

Agree...put in a performance like that and your day off is cancelled.

Of course there is a lot going on at the club as per this thread put players have come here in recent years and immediatly go into a comfort zone. It needs to stop.

PP needs to change that culture if he wants to be a success here.

To be fair plenty have had bits with speculation in already, not least the Sun of course, but also the Chronicle has regularly been giving it's (generally negative) slant on it, the Express were taking the piss when it looked like it had collapsed (the usual click bait **** with daft comments from mags on Twitter being made into an "article"), the Telegraph mentioned it recently when they had that interview with Methven. So I sort of thought the echo would lead on it yesterday and there would be bits and pieces elsewhere today. Hopefully it is happening and it's not just the echo getting ahead of themselves!

Agree, should always be the case after a poor performance. No more softly softly approach we are a division 3 team and need to come out fighting

Yeah I see what you mean now but how about:
Once bitten twice shy
The boy who cried wolf
These rumours have been floating about for some time and are not actually fresh news.
I "THINK" that the club has battened down the hatches on any of these stories / leaks so even if a major paper wanted to break the story they would not be able to come up with any quotes etc. so might as well just wait for the official announcement
Unless of course you are the Sun and then it's a case of feel free to print any s#@t you like.
Just to argue against myself, the Echo must have picked something up though, as it would be strange timing just to randomly print an article like that, they must have talked to someone who has let something slip, you would have thought.
I did think that the Chronicle did follow up the Echo story on Saturday but sorry I am not going to click on that site to check :emoticon-0100-smile

Looks like we are just going to have to wait and see:emoticon-0148-yes:
