Trouble is it is our home form that could cost Ralph his Job. IMO if he does not improve our home record within the next 4 games he just maybe out of work. Will be interesting what Goa will do now he has the helm don’t you guys and gals think?

We’d be mad to even think of sacking Ralph.

But we are football fans. We are mad. Maybe the owner is also mad, but hopefully not that mad.

I guess it depends on Gao's viewpoint. If we continue on as we are flirting with the bottom 3 he may choose to sack Ralph and bring in a "survival expert". If he is only interested in the money side then staying in the PL is key and I would say that we have more chance of going down with Ralph in charge than an Allardyce.

The table doesn't count for much at this stage we are not even a quarter of the way through the season yet and we are only 7 points from 5th place. a good run and the table can change very quickly.

It's different if you are a little bit cut adrift like Watford are.

The thing is that we aren't actually a bad team. We can play good football. This has a few of the culprits in the team still, but it isn't a Pellegrino team.

It's what made the transfer window twice as bad for me. Not just because we need reinforcements, but because with Ralph in place it feels like a real missed opportunity. If we'd given him the tools to do his job, we could certainty be competing for a top 8 place this season. But instead, 12th to 14th is about the upper end of my ambitions. And I'm not even sure if we'll make it that high.

The previous two summer windows were just about the former, because I didn't see us as having any sort of opportunity ahead of us. This was more like 2016 (which was a missed opportunity for a different reason - namely finishing 6th in the previous season and qualifying for Europe.)

All our CBs, including Yoshi who everyone loves, make as many mistakes as Vestergaard, so I think you’re probably right. There should be no need for scapegoats when the entire defence is crap.

ooh, thats harsh on Yosh. 3 years ago he was a dead cert to give away a scoring opportunity under little pressure. Been much better the recent seasons.

MY personal concern with Vestergaaard is that the guy is 6'6" but seems incapable of handling high balls. They sail over his head or bounce under his feet or just somehow find themselves goalside of him with an opposition striker running after them with far too much regularity. He should be able to just plant his feet and head the ****ers back into the the other half.

We had top 10 form after Ralph joined until the end of the season and that was with a crappy CB department. we have much better attacking options now it's just that we still haven't improved the central defence.
We should've also replaced Targett if Vokins is deemed to be too raw yet.
