I'm declaring today the 'Smug day off from any negativity'.

Thanks to @Dunder Mifflin I'm just setting off for Wycombe on the back of wonderful news.

SAFC have attracted investment from world renowned, ultra successful, businessmen.

We have an incredible support going to watch a new era for the team and an attacking intent.

A win, or even a fighting mentality and a real performance, then the whole mood can shift.

It may be easy to spout things about drawing lines in sand etc, but this is surely the time.

This may not be the 'instant success' we'd all like but its a fabulous rung on a ladder we have to climb.

Haway Sunderland ...

... 3 points, some real noise today and onwards & upwards tomorrow!!!
Well done mate you've been spot on , and even when alot of people said it was off you said it wasnt , enjoy your rest lad

I don’t trust SD and CM. Ultimately they’re just business opportunists who know how to turn in the blarney. I’ve specifically got an issue with Donald’s ‘best interests of the club not myself’ narrative. That said they could be far worse, they’re decent enough men and soon they’ll be under more pressure to do better at the important bit- improving the football performances- instead of ****ing over cost savings.
And that’s not a problem mate you’re allowed to have that opinion. but in my experience it’s not a common view and until I see firm evidence of real mismanagement I’ll continue to back him.

Iirc werent we trundling in top half of c'ship with keane before the jan window came and he bought almost a whole new team?
From there we really took off and finished in a canter.
Have to say the best transfer for me was a loan( Evan's) who stabilised and organised our defence and that made so much difference.
Special mention to kavanagh as well. He was a class above in that league. The consummate midfielder in that league.
Hopefully parkinson gets in players he needs to finish the job.
Then we will see how good this investment is next season

Not quite, it was the summer window when we had been bottom after about 5 games, he was at the west brom game then made all the deadline day signings. Def the beginning of the season

You have to presume that it's pretty much ready to be announced if this story has come out, because I can't believe that it's been leaked after the previous statement about NDA's.

Hopefully with this news and a new manager, we can all get back to supporting the team on the pitch and getting some perspective back. The negativity and drama of the last few weeks is a by product of the emotional scars that we have from the last several years in my opinion. We treat everything that doesn't go right as the start of a new crisis. We let our recent history create a bias in our view point.

We're a club with a very serious shout of automatic promotion this season. We've hired a manager who's achieved that goal twice before. We're attracting the kind of investment that can set us on an upward trajectory for the foreseeable future.

This is not a crisis. We have an opportunity and we need to get behind the club as it strives to reach our targets.
