To be fair it was at the beginning of my regular attendance at the games and it's a bit blurry now. Bus down to the wheatsheaf, see the badge man, Roker pie shop for some scran then in to the Fulwell. Loved it.

I see to work in the Wheatsheaf on match days, this was after we moved to the SOL.

£15, free pints and sarnies. Ideal.

Struggling to think of a favourite player but Keane was the best player I've seen live, I knew he was good but I hadn't realised what a quality player he was. Far from just a hatchet man although he was one of the best of them too.

He absolutely bossed games. Him and Viera were incredible in very similar ways.

Never saw him live, what made him stand out?

That's it yeah, I was always well aware of what he was good at but it was the extent that he bossed the whole game that impressed me As I say canny footballer too. Bit of a dick tho.

Yeah, pure leadership as well. If someone wasn’t up for it, he’d either shout them awake or have a word. He never let anyone drift. He was a naughty passer as well. And a tidy finisher before his legs went and he sat deeper.

There’s no modern day equivalent.

I'd go with Keane, Bergkamp and Giggs as my top 3. Keane's "non footballing" attributes like passion, leadership, commitment, desire, motivation etc. are unrivalled IMO.

How good was best?

Pele says he was the best. To be fair when saw him he was probably past his peak, but close control was out of this world.

Someone said this Gazelle must be Best reincarnated

I love reading and hearing stories about the old time greats, makes me properly jealous I didn't see them play

Best player live, it's hard to separate Cantona and Bergkamp, both incredibly skilful players with a large dose of arrogance and not afraid of the physical side of the game and then there is Ronaldo. Has there been a better player seen at the SOL?

Best Sunlan player, Stan Cummins was very special as was Brady but above both of them would be Philips. For three seasons Philips was the best finisher in the business, he was Dennis Law in the box but he also made goals from nothing. I doubt we will ever see his like again in the red n white stripes.

I envy the old fellas who saw the likes of Best and Charlton.

People always go for the goal v Chelsea, but the one that always sticks with me was the one against Watford.

That was like ‘**** me, we are Premier League’.

Such a shame we didn’t have money to build on that team man. It was joyous to watch.
