    Forgot to add Fat Frank to my list. Superb midfielder. Always thought he was better than Gerrard. Gerrard was a better big game player but Lampard was there week-in, week-out doing the business.

    Politics, really, Dave Sexton resented flair players in the main and wanted to change things. He asked Ossie to be captain over Chopper which Ossie didn't want as he felt Chopper was the guys the others looked up to. He then dropped Osssie and Hudson the game after and made them train with the reserves. The upshot of it Sexton never requested their contract talks with the chairman and when they found out they decided it was time to go. Hudson went to a good Stoke side (who beat us 2-1 in the league cup final) And Laurie sold Ossie the dream of life at Southampton.

    Always saw them as totally different midfield players, Gerrard was more dynamic box to box player. Whereas Frank was phenomenal as a goal scoring midfielder with 211 goals and 102 assists.

    Oh yeah for sure, different styles and Gerrard was a superb player but if I had the choice of who I’d have wanted at Spurs it would’ve been Lampard. I just felt he was more consistent at what he done.
