I was lucky enough to see Vieira play a few times, man was a ****ing unit and really skillful for tough tackling DM, although he was more of a modern box to box player really. When you saw him play in the flesh, you could appreciate how good at reading the game he was. If you watched him, you could see that he'd be anticipating the play two or three steps before it actually happened. That allowed him to be in the right position to break up play and to 'see' the attack unfolding and know where to pass the ball, or what space to run into. His ongoing spat with Roy Keane was a proper battle royale. He had that little pikey **** exactly where he wanted him though
Whilst I admired Roy Keane. Vieira was on another planet imo. All the aggression of Keane but the silky skills to go with it.
I bet you were gutted weren't you?...it would've been like if Le God and Mickey Channon left us at the same time.
Had no idea that was your line of work ... but does explain a few things... hope your foot gets better
Past - Henry. Just ridiculously good and very difficult to dislike him. - Shearer. Just admired his confidence, ability, and the fact he did it for England too. - Roy Keane. Love his dedication to the game and 100% commitment. - Ray Parlour. I just like the bloke and generally the English contingent at Arsenal in the nineties and early 2000s. Present - Diego Costa. Absolute ****er but I massively rate him! Big loss to Chelsea. - Aguero. A top player.
From days gone by - Glenn Hoddle, Martin Chivers, Alan Ball, Martin Peters, Allan Clarke, Stan Bowles, Gerry Francis, Terry McDermott, Alan Hansen, Ray Kennedy, Trevor Brooking, Kevin Keegan, Ossie Ardiles, Graham Roberts, Roberto Bettega, Mario Kempes, Trevor Francis, Robert Taylor, Paul Shaw (Both Gillingham), Dennis Bergkamp, Jurgen Klinsmann, Petr Cech, Michael Carrick From the current crop - Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero, Virgil Van Dijk, N'Golo Kante, Antoine Griezmann, Callum Wilson, Eden Hazard, Ruben Loftus Cheek, Fabinho, James Ward-Prowse, Jan Vertonghen.
The juggernaut wasn't too bad in goal Watching that you can see Les Ferdinand, first game I went to was Loftus Road, qpr vs Liverpool, he scored a late goal to win the game 2-1, apart from that he's a player I always liked to watch.
