I’m not being defensive, I’m against speculative bullshit.

Nobody knows any of this information yet they are trying to paint the clubs owner as a crook and trying to stand by it.

If it transpires, through factual information, that he’s done anything wrong then I’ll be near the front of the queue of dissenting voices.

It won’t though, will it? We can easily account for the clubs income. Easily.

Who's WE?

We as in the human race, as in Sunderland fans, as in anyone who looks at what it costs to run the club and it’s facilities, pay its wages, pay the huge unexpected costs for N’Dong, Rodwell and Alvarez.

2 of those were put to bed long ago.

Hopefully news that Wardley Mackem has been brutally violated with a pineapple

Don't worry he does it to himself.
This is the second 'rallying cry thread' he's started telling everyone to be just like him and not criticise the club or the owners (or it'll upset his mates at RR because I'm sure he's connected to them).

Anyway the last one he did dug in to fans who pointed out Ross's failings in the January transfer window and the lack of key players or a plan B.

He dismissed everyone as 'spoilt bairns' who needed a good feed and a nap.

Needless to say the thread got dug out after Ross got the bullet for exactly the failings he'd slagged fans off for pointing out 9 months and 1 window earlier.

Which 2?

Rodwell was paid off last season, N’Dong we still owed on the fee to Lorient, and Alvarez we were hit with a matter of weeks ago.

As I said - 2 of those were put to bed ages ago - you've just confirmed what I said - congratulations.

Ironically, I had just read a post on here saying you get banned for disagreeing with him, flicked over to there and discovered a 2 month ban :emoticon-0102-bigsm

No warnings, no nothing. I was searching the other day to try and find warning points but couldn’t see them anywhere so don’t even know if it’s totting up - highly doubt it mind

I mentioned earlier, but Alvarez to Inter was settled in the 16-17 accounts as an exceptional payment. The amount owed for his loss of earnings case is on hold as still in court. The earliest it will be paid is this year (Donald again said this so don't shoot the messenger)

Rodders? What is it that made you think his costs went up?

Ndong was sacked without pay, which saved money. Even if Watford were to have paid, it would have been in instalments (please don't argue the toss on this one, you know it's the case in 99% of football transfers) so by not paying him, they likely offset the majority of that, if not all of it. Plus remember that the £8.5m was part of a forecast, not an actual expense. It just didn't contribute to revenue, but we can talk about the Khazri bonus from St Etienne, the Liverpool bonus payment and the Kone and Maja transfer fees. There were transfer and loan fees for Borini, Lens and co coming through too.

Ndong also has to pay €4m to the club once he finds a new club. Pretty good outcome, Donald should be commended for getting us through that legal battle and that of Papy.

This is the thing, I like Donald in some respects, I just think fundamentally, I disagree with loaning that much to his own company at this point when we desperately need quality on the pitch to get out of L1 and he is saying he doesn't anticipate putting any money in this financial year (19/20). Is that fair?

No I haven’t. These were in last seasons costs beyond the wage bill. It’s last seasons costs that are being speculated on.

They are therefore completely relevant. People are discussing where money went last season, but the costs from last season aren’t part of that?

On what planet? Did the final payment to Lorient and the Rodwell contract payoff come in the same financial year as the alleged financial misgivings? Yes, they clearly did.

Or are we discussing this seasons costs, which of course have no relevance to the purchase of the club, therefore making the whole conversation redundant? You tell me.

N’Dong has to pay the club what we had to pay Lorient to settle his fee. So that’s been PAID by the club.

Rodwell’s contract was PAID off, by the club.

Alvarez, we lost on court, that was 3 weeks or so ago, or did you miss that? Must be PAID by the club.

I have misgivings about the owners in some respects. I am not blindly defending them. What I am doing is rejecting speculation about missing money and such. It’s simply not happened or happening.

As I said - just numbers mate.

As I said - just numbers mate.

And as I said, we don’t know the numbers, so how can we accuse the owners of anything?

It’s not a difficult question. I repeat, if you have a complete breakdown of incomes and outgoings of the clubs revenue, alongside the exact amount the owners have put in, then please share and you have proved your point.

If you haven’t got this information, then we have no grounds to question it.

I won’t quote numbers as I do not know them. That’s me not speculating.

I'm not accusing the owners of anything - I simply asked how much of their own money have they put in. You have said you don't know yet you're very defensive of them. Why? BTW you sound a lot like Wardley Mackem.

Alvarez is three separate issues:

£9m paid to Inter in 2016-17
€5m owed to the player for loss of earnings (unpaid as Alvarez is now suing for more)
€350k to Velez Sarsfeld in Argentina paid this year

Rodwell accepted a settlement, which meant he was paid less than the value of his contract had he stayed.

Ndong is messier still, but he has joined Dijon and we would expect a transfer fee to be recouped as per the agreement. Net, I don't think we've lost out as much as you make out, because he was owed about £5m in wages that we no longer had to pay. Again, it all contributes to the situation as you say. I would not expect a net loss this season on that based on the way it has been talked about. Same with sacking Papy, winner as he was on 40k apparently!

I guess the point is, they literally said they got the entire cost base down to £32m. It's pretty futile talking about transfer revenue as separate to that. Transfer fees are paid in instalments, but so are the recouped fees for people we sold post-Short such as Khazri, Lens, Borini et al.

People know who I am.

I’ve posted on this forum (and only this forum), for several years since BBC606 closed down.

I said several messages ago ‘£5million up front and I don’t know how much for ongoing costs etc’.

I’m not sure how you didn’t understand that.

I do not know the numbers, as I do not know the clubs overall costs. We would need to know that to even start working out where any money had gone. It’s not difficult.

But if the owner says he has used a loan from Close bros to pay off his debt to Short, is that not ok to assume that as correct?
