The thing that cant be accounted for is that a percentage of the population are thick as mince.
If you are posting complaints as to the wording of the update and the lack of information, I'm sorry I cant dress this up any better for you, but you are one of the thick as mince people.
Dont argue. Just accept you are. People with intelligence just automatically get why its worded as it is and the thing is, it's incredibly simple why its worded like that, thus proving you are thick as mince if you are whinging about the wording.

This is going around in circles. If you choose to believe that this is a perfectly fine statement given Donald's previous comments, that's fine.
I'll maintain that I'm not surprised fans expected more given that he pitched it that way. He could have said about nda's 2 weeks ago but he didn't, he gave us a deadline to expect news instead.

My problem with the statement isn't the wording but that the content is vastly different to what might have been expected given Stuart Donald's previous comments. If he had given this comment 2 weeks ago rather than actually suggesting we would know about the takeover at this point, fans might not have had different expectations.

I understand,l what you're saying, I don't see why you need to attempt to be condescending. I don't agree that "whilst talks are still ongoing, we can't discuss it" constitutes the kind of news that fans may have been expecting given that Donald set a deadline for us "knowing more".
I'm far from it mate, trying to belittle someone rather than have a discussion says more about you than it does about me.

I'm pointing out that his original comments were naive. 2 weeks ago instead of telling fans it was better than 50/50 and that in 1 or 2 weeks, we should know more., He could have given this statement. Because he gave the detail he did, he built up the expectation of fans and the media noise about it.
This whole openness thing they (admirably) decided to do isn't really compatible with this investment kind of sh*t and NDAs.
It's left them looking like they're hiding things from the people they were being open with until recently (fans).

OK you won, its only discussions about investing in a multi million pound business.
Of course they have rigid fixed deadlines and SD is a helmet for not knowing more the second his self imposed deadline expired
I'm sorry. Just having a laugh. And it most definitely says alot about me being a dick.
But this is dead easy.
1) at the time of saying he would provide an update he expected to be concluded or off and therefore clear of NDA and therefore could speak more openly.
2) however it's still ongoing so he is still under the NDA therefore still cant say anything.
3) despite number 2 above, he did promise us an update, so he has provided an update as best he can - on time.

I agree with all of that to be honest. All I'm suggesting is that point 1 was a bit naive of him to get ahead of himself and as a result some fans had expectations.
Not sure how it's took about 50 posts to get to this point, I must be an argumentative dick too!
