I know these things are always hugely complex but the long delay, and not knowing whether it’s on or off, has taken the shine off it.

Clearly having spent north of £1 million on legal fees, they must have been serious bidders. The talk was always that this was a long term legacy project so, if the reason why it is looking doubtful is due to the uncertainty of potentially not going up this season, then it seems daft. It was always going to take us 2-3 years to get back to the premiership in all reality but you can’t buy big premiership clubs for £40-£50 million.

I’d take that, let’s face it we don’t need a kings ransom to get out this league and it’d be great to get these people tied in at an early stage.

Aye, I've mentioned a couple of times that I think it's likely. Either all of them but in a much smaller capacity at first, or maybe just one of them joining for now. The key is having these people involved and interested. If they come on board, even with a 20% stake or something, then we've got the canvas, if we can get our act together and improve the club (and use their knowledge/ contacts etc) then they can get more involved as and when they see fit. If they're interested (which they obviously are) but think it's a risk, then a lower stake to reduce that risk seems an inherently sensible option, rather than walking away entirely. I'd be happier if it's 100% like, but any investment from these people would be ****ing huge for our club, especially as we don't massively need funds right this instant

Why are people using Barnsley as a yardstick?

I'll throw in Charlton just for good balance who are penniless and literally scraping the barrel for players yet are doing well in 10th place and only 2 points from play offs.

Try 4-5 years minimum. But you’re right, going rate for a bog standard PL club seems north of £200million.

The clubs been ran ****e but these guys are brilliant businessmen, clearly.

It’s a ****ing cash cow and no mistake, done right.

Spot on. If,and it still is if,this takeover has died,it's not because of anything short term like Ross or academy players.
Much more likely to be something fundamental over the longer term, with much larger sums of money........or,points of principle....involved.

Spot on mate.

Continuity and planning can outscore money.

Bournemouth and Brighton are spending a few quid now, but they spent relatively little to get to the PL.

Then there Norwich. Spent about £4.

According to Wikipedia Bournmouth's owners are worth 700bn :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I said that days ago and was wrong apparently.

Smug, I would just ignore these to55ers, if anyone took the time to read your posts, a very high percentage is pretty damn accurate. I am assuming some of these morons simply hate the thought that someone else could actually have a life that brings them into contact with people who can have this kind if inside info... Says more about their sad life really....Jealous is a very un-cool thing.
