Sunderland's takeover by an American consortium is "in the balance", according to The Sun. Black Cats owner Stewart Donald has been in talks with MSD Partners over the last month but the New York firm are "still haggling over some of the details of the deal" and there are now fears it could collapse.

Some more drivel from the sun

Is that not the thing from a few days ago by David Coverdale or whatever his name is, the one that Donald said on Twitter was absolute rubbish?

Think this came out the other day mate and Donald has since tweeted to a fan who raised it as bollocks.

Donald already came out and said how that was rubbish on twitter as well.

Don't think it will be a lavish announcement with all the mock up details and stuff, but it must be a press conference with the American lads there with Donald. Be interesting to see how much national coverage it gets mind.

People need to keep their emotions and expectations in check.
I'm sure they will be very ambitious and I doubt anything other than getting to premier quick sharp will be failure. When keane took us up, we were nowhere going into the xmas window. He then bought anything with 2 legs and the rest is history.
Truth is the best bit of business he ever did was loaning Johnny Evans. People like kavanagh played a part but Evan's was the catalyst.
I'm not expecting lavish spending or whatever. They will be keen to get in the right football staff from manager through to the academy and scouting.
It'll happen when it happens. Hardly profound I realise
Moving Noz to CH ( something he refused to do for MM ) was also a great move for a time

It was! Before he switched him,I think I remember Roy saying he'd been out to dinner with his missus and had spent the whole evening thing about Noz!:emoticon-0102-bigsm

I would like to think there would be an announcement and thats it - no massive press conferences etc - just a feeling these guys are going to turn us into a proper professional outfit and then we'd know these guys means business.

The club hasnt been professionally run in many a year.

If we have a big event other clubs will take us for a massive ride in future transfer windows.

I'm with you on this in preferring a soft launch and then following it with a steady drip drip of information, details of projects etc. to ensure that we are, almost, constantly in the news.
Then again we could announce we had signed Messi and Dawn on BBC North Korea would start with news of a Newcastle reserve fixture :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Wonder how many new members this sites had in the past 2 weeks.

Even @Rodger has came!

Rodger can you check if it was Pancho who changed my password?

I think you need to have a word with him tbh as I bet I'm not the only one who has received his ban happy treatment.
I believe well over 70 but @Gordon Armstrong being a mod could tell you

Or you could go to newbie infiltrators and count them :emoticon-0140-rofl:
