No he sold that marra. He opened a branch of his car lease firmAn office for his insurance company .
Let's keep it on topic eh? You can continue this via pm easily enough.
I always liked your posts on RTG mate, very reasoned and thought through. Glad you came across here as well.
Smug has referred to libel which I have not mentioned in any of my posts.
I am going out now but when I work out how to I will send him a message later
No mate, Gatesy on both.
Again, more signal of him being tied to the area and more, for me, a sign that he’s confident the finance is incoming.
He’s never once tried to suggest he can run the club solely without investment.
Folk can pick away looking for the downside all they like, to a degree it’s the Mackem way.
I’m having every little twitch as another positive myself. I’ve no reason to question Smug having interacted with the fella for the best part of a decade.
I’m sticking with ‘it’s happening’.
Ah, sorry pal, so many new names and avatars lol, i am gerrin awld and confused![]()

Hmmmmmm okI am unable to comment on any material aspects of the actual deal.
Yep its like one poster wants to derail the threadThis thread is descending the way the RTG one did. Quite sad really.
Can you imagine the likes of Doug Weatherall behaving like these modern breed. He is in his 80's and retired now but still goes to Sunderland (and Newcastle) games. To put this into context I'll explain how I know.
This isn't for my benefit, or ego boosting, but you may be interested.
When I did the bodyguard work, in the south of France, we'd look after clients flying in for the Cannes Film Festival, Monaco F1, etc. We'd obviously have to know who we were collecting from the airport, who they were with, which hotel/villa they were staying at, which events they'd be attending, which guests they'd be receiving, etc etc etc. It's not just standing around in dark glasses
The paperazzi will pay big money for that kind of info.
They'll also give blood if the security team allow them to attend private parties in private villas where the super rich and famous let their hair down and gossip.
Now, I'm too professional to allow paps too much information, but i did make friends with a lovely woman who was the 'Style' correspondent for a major newspaper, like the Mail but not the Mail.
She was as glamourous as the stars and totally discreet, many of the celebs knew and trusted her in any case. I'd make sure she knew who was in town and where they'd be. I enabled her access to the parties and balls for no reward except I had a massive crush on her I suppose.
We've kept in touch discreetly, as she's married now, but chat about all kinds of things. I no longer have much to give her, info wise, but she digs around in the football department for gossip for me.
Sadly she's given me much more ITK stuff on Newcastle as they're currently bigger news. But she did tell me that their junior sports reporters are despicable little creeps who join forums and create mischief. These are the ones, not respected journalists, who I'm talking about.
Hope that helps.
I know it's been mentioned that is was CM that got FPP to the table (maybe by Smug? Not sure) but maybe it was Methven, via Short (also mentioned but again, not sure by who) and FPP don't really know Methven so aren't overly inclined to keep someone on who has split opinion with the fanbase...I hadn't considered that perhaps the hold up in the deal is the compensation package for Methven, I thought he'd have been kept on because allegedly anyway he was the man who got this group interested in buying the club.

I’m starting to think it’s the international break that they’re waiting for. If there’s gonna be a lot of upheaval it makes sense to it on a quieter than normal week at the club.I hadn't considered that perhaps the hold up in the deal is the compensation package for Methven, I thought he'd have been kept on because allegedly anyway he was the man who got this group interested in buying the club.

I have no doubt that some parts of the press will stoop to low levels and I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if some journalists joined up to message boards, twitter and whatever else with fake accounts to stir **** and try to create a story when a story isn't actually there. And that's across a whole wide range of subjects, not just the football. Personally, I'd say it does happen but I don't have cast iron proof of it, just a very high level of suspicion of it. I'm not naive when it comes to misinformation, propaganda and the ability to set an agenda through the media. I'd say it would be the likes of Pancho who are a bit naive about this sort of behaviour as stating that it doesn't happen just isn't the case.
