The trouble is Smug, some people can’t recognise the difference between your three types of information despite your clarity.

They latch on and believe everything is gospel and are devastated when it doesn’t pan out, then the toys start flying out the pram, others have their own agenda and use it to attack you irrespective of whether you posted it as fact, second hand information or an educated guess.

I look forward to you continuing to share any information or opinion.

Strap yersel in, I'm about to boast.

When I was on the Takeover thread is was absolutely buzzing and loads said it was a lot of fun despite not believing a word of what anyone was saying. Lots of the contrIbutions were hilarious and people had a great time. I posted facts, some of which were proved correct, but also 'embellished' things and tried to keep the optimistic mood going .... guilty as charged.

Since I've not been on there it's become spiteful and dreary with the same bitter arguments being repeated ad infinitum.

People should remember it's just a chat forum where people chat about stuff.

Let’s not overlook that Donald sold his business a couple of weeks ago, for me that’s surely a sign he’s going to be needed full time to run something else.

Now, we know he hasn’t the financial clout to run the club as his sole business interest, so I’m taking that as a massive sign he’s expecting involvement and he’s expecting the finances to be there to support it.

He also said that the club needed an injection of £4 million in August just gone in order to meet its liabilities don’t forget.

However he’s also setting up a business here too on the leasing side of his business. It could have been for that too?

Seems an even longer shot that he’d sell his business to fill a short term hole in the clubs finances without a pretty sure idea he’d see it back don’t it?

All points to a positive outcome to me.

If this is the case and Donald walks away with a nice pay day, good luck to him. He took over this club at its lowest ebb, he brought the fans back on board and has overseen a time when the club needed some big decisions. I agree, financially he is limited, but if he and Charlie bring in these investors, every Sunderland fans should thank these two...We were a club on the brink...they stopped us from total collapse.
Never disputed the fact that they deserve plaudits

Mate, I have been on RTG more than this site for a year or so and understand how volatile it can be. I have followed the Takeover Thread pretty closely and have never had any difficulty recognising facts and guesswork mainly because you were very clear with what were facts. It was funny to see some of the more obvious banter but pretty sad to see how some latched on to any snippet of information and either embellished it or used it to attack you and others who kindly shared.

I know I've posted this before but Donald gave the club's permission for 'Dell' to register a new business using the SOL as the company address.

He's now openly speaking about a deal locked down with NDA's.

Seriously, would Donald jeopardise this takeover by publicly blabbing to a bunch of supporters in a Consett pub. Not a chance. He may well be jepordising certain aspects of his wishes, position in the club, etc, but it's ridiculous to suggest he'd compromise the deal.

As I stated a month ago, the deal is done and the car is bought ...
... it's just the delivery date we're waiting for.

Very true, I’d say the vast majority believed or took things with a pinch of salt, appreciated the updates and enjoyed the monorail posts as much as the takeover posts. It’s been an eternity since the news broke and any snippet relating to it has been a relief due to the obvious lack of official information. Just a shame a few preferred to get a bit upset that others were posting with a positive agenda.

As far as I’m concerned, everything’s going fine until I officially hear otherwise and any snippet is appreciated.

He sold one of his businesses. He still has his leasing company and is a director of several other companies.

I've stuck my neck out so many times, on the announcement date, I must look like a diplodocus by now.

I was fed, by someone connected to a name often mentioned on here, 'almost certain' dates for it.

My first was posted before anyone else and it was obviously wrong. The others were sent to me at the same time as the likes of RR/ALS/BBC and today was the deadline for the latest I was given ... Balls!

Anyway I've just had another message, which he's said I can post, and he's totally convinced with this. I know I'll be criticised if it's wrong, but after some thought, believe it's best to post and let people make their own minds up.

"Word around the campfire is that a 'deadline' for an announcement is close of business Wednesday 9th October."

Once again he goes on to say its 'staffing issues' which have caused the delay. He won't give me the slightest clue who it is which makes me think its someone senior rather than Doris the tea lady.

As I pointed out yesterday morning this is exactly the sort of speculation that Mr Donald referred to in his clarification tweets following his Consett talk in.

The Sun article was a direct consequence of social media gossip including this message board, forcing Mr Donald to issue even more denials and clarifications.

Despite what you say the deal is not complete and I know that the current climate of gossip is causing real concern at SAFC.

Your subsequent posts have suggested that you have dismissed my concerns.

If that is the case may I suggest that you contact Mr Donald directly via twitter and I'm sure he will confirm the above.

I'm not singling you out in particular but as you appear to be the unofficial spokesperson on here for all takeover rumours I felt it appropriate to address you directly.

IIRC The other business is still based in the Witney / Oxford area and the Sunderland office will effectively be a branch office.
That said, he didn't need to open an office in Sunderland so there must be some connection, other than the superb quality of the people in the area <laugh>

Cheap premises and lower wages would be my guess.

Are you saying that you yourself are communicating directly with Stewart Donald?

I'll address your other comments in due course but would like an answer on this first ...

.... as it's a fact that this business is registered at Companies House, and Donald owns the club at the address to which it's registered, its surely a fact that he's given permission.

The registration, and address, can't be dismissed as speculation, they're facts.

A yes or no, from you, will suffice and we can then move on to 'other business'.

I am unable to comment on any material aspects of the actual deal.
