Incidentally I've had a message from a respected poster, who I've not met, but spoke to someone close to the club at the match today. He was suggesting that CM may not endure whereas SD is looking to put down roots.

However, neither may have their future in their own hands for long.

I'm amazed how quiet the O'Brien situation is tbh.

If, as Donald stated at Consett, his future is uncertain why would he appoint a new director ....

... unless he's no longer in a position to make those decisions.
I would have thought that out of the two, it would be Methven who would be kept on tbh. He’s a PR man with knowledge of the Club, fan base etc. He’s also used to being an employee, whilst Donald is an entrepreneur who owns his own businesses,
My guess that the entrepreneur Mr Donald has seen the plans to regenerate both Club and the area around it; hence he’s relocated one of his Businesses to a prime spot for when what he knows is going to happen, happens.
Seems logical to me anyway

For what it's worth I was told today that a certain someone was quoted as saying "99.9 % complete!"
Dont shoot.
I believe you, Smug said he said more or less the same to his mate in Consett. Wonder if any Super Soaraway Scum "journalists" print an exclusive scoop about that little gem. Verified by two different people who probably have not met, or know each other.

Last night.

That's Interesting
Load of negativity from the usual message board warriors last night
but Caught up with my pal at the match today, he'd been at the talk in last night and was absolutely buzzing about the takeover.
He'd picked up a few snippets from people chatting afterwards and things sound really possitive

In the finest Charlie says accent...

"Charlie says he wants to stay in Sunderland because the beer is cheap as fcuk".

We’re any of the Dell boys at the match today, do we know?

Not sure why that was posted as a reply to WW’s comment.??
I hope SD does stay on in some capacity, IMO I think he is genuine bloke and his excitement for the club to do well shows.
I can only go on my experience of sitting chatting to him for an hour or so when he came to see me dad. And I know some think I’m blinded by him and support him unconditionally because of that, I don’t and never would. If he did anything to wilfully damage Sunderland I’d be his biggest critic.
But from sitting chatting to him he is, in my opinion a genuine bloke, his excitement sometimes means he gets carried away, just like supporters do

Our man in Blackhill, last night, sent me a WhatsApp after I'd gone to bed.

I wouldn't normally repeat something that Donald has said in confidence but he seems to have sidestepped that principle last night so balls to it.

My mate was there with an in-law who asked Donald, off Mike after the event, what were the chances of it happening ...

.... 99% was the answer which, ironically, is more than 50% so at least he's consistent <laugh>
Don’t know why Donald has put such a negative spin on the takeover. Yes I wouldn’t expect him to announce it’s all rubber stamped but surely he could give the consett group a bit hope. I’m certainly not a ITK but it’s true the O’Brien lad has joined the board , Another lad I know who I won’t name but he’s position is at director level with our sponsors showed me text msgs from wed 18th and thurs 19th fwd from Charlie saying the deal was done.Only last night he was saying it’s all sorted and they’re all just waiting for everyone to be together so they can announce it.

So it's off then? :emoticon-0101-sadsm

The fact that he took the time and effort to come and personally meet you and your late Dad showed me that he is a genuine fella and a gentleman to boot. I believe that he would not do anything which is not in the best interests of the club, which makes the ****e spouted by a gutter journalist working for Rupert effing Murdoch's corrupt organisation all the more sickening.
