Thankfully, these American billionaires seem more than happy to tell every man and his dog about what's happening with the deal and it's reaching our supporter base.

Registering on companies house is standard procedure btw. Staveley had set up a company to take over the mags and that still blew out.

She incorporated a company called Cantervale Ltd which even at the time, she said had absolutely nothing to do with the Newcastle takeover and is actually trading now if you look at Companies House.

After all that's happened I'd be amazed if Donald isn't involved tbh.

I don't have any info and the lad, at the club, is keeping it zipped. I suspect he's had someone reminding him about discretion.

Pain in the r's from my point of view.

I've really appreciated all your info from the start, so thank you.

I wonder if it's possible that many of the participants will tap into the meeting via Skype or some other such video conference medium - they wouldn't necessarily need to be there in person, so there is potential that SD (or a stand in) could still be in the North East. I can't imagine Barnsley's owners coming across from China/America to attend as one example.

Cheers mate, if enough decent people post on here it would be emigration rather than vacation. The SMB has become a troll's playground and debate is replaced by personal attacks and deliberate thread derailing.

As for the takeover, I was caught out by guessing that the announcement would be a lot sooner. In my defence I'd been given the same info as the BBC, Echo, the fanzines, etc who all jumped the gun. That info wasn't, it appears, 'authorised by Dell' which it seems is why everything went deathly quiet.

Happily, things appear to be 'moving' again and we can hopefully all relax quite soon. This isn't similar to Newcastle where a takeover wouldn't fundamentally change much.

This is really schit or bust for us imo ...

... in real trouble or in dreamland.
Having lost my jumping boots years ago:emoticon-0170-ninjai am perplexed by this:

Riever i thought the deal was done and dusted?completed,.finalised.and awaiting announcement..are you being deliberately abstruse!<yikes>

This would make sense. A delegate could be at the meeting in his stead with video conferencing if required. League meeting at 9am, takeover announced at 11

I'll happily respond to all of your questions, post the link, etc if you say who you are on RTG.

It's no secret who I am, and other people have posted as the same people, so it's surely not a problem.

This is a very easy going forum and most posters know each other personally.

My guess is oddbod, based purely on illiteracy.

This sounds like you are deliberately trying to wind people up, which others have commented about . . . . there is no evidence of bullying, and until there is you, perhaps, shouldn't suggest it ('cos that'll get peoples' backs up, too).

As I've already mentioned, don't be a tit and you probably won't be treated like one :emoticon-0105-wink:

I have the feeling the people they bring in will be bullying the council, Metro, local authorities to show some respect and sort the place out.

SAFC brings in a huge amount of money, via the supporters, into the town. If they want to present a good face to supporters, many of whom live outside the city, visiting supporters, concert goers etc, they need to spend some money and sort the place out. The two routes to the ground from the town centre are disgraceful tbh. The little rail bridge is overcrowded after the game and the river bridge just as bad. The route through Sheepfolds is poor and the back alley behind the Deaf Club is shameful. The 'hot dog alley' is very poor for what was, and will be, a PL ground. And why has no one put a bloody decent path across the grass behind the hotel.

I think these people will electroshock the city back to life and not before time.
There were plans previously drawn up to convert the Sheepfolds area into a 'sports quarter' but the council couldn't fund it in these times of austerity. Maybe the Dell boys will look to rejuvenate that? Would mean a load of compulsory purchases and relocation of existing busineses but they look to have a decent bank balance and that could be a very good investment - modelled on Barca, lots of different sports facilities and team in the same location?

By the way, I'm Darius on both.

Bring on the Sunderland cricket team.

This is all starting to leak out now and Saturdays match could be the one to be at. I'm making plans to be there myself.

I just hope everyone takes the opportunity to walk blinking into the light of a new dawn <party>
Didn't they state a couple of weeks ago that they were attending the MK Dons game. Maybe this was there intention all the time to break the news and be there for the first official match in charge?

I received quite a few WhatsApp messages from my Italian millionaire ex-employer but only had one conversation with him while he was in the States, time difference etc.

It really made me laugh out loud.

During our conversation he actually said, "So Smoog, what eez a sheep fold?"

That obviously doesn't look funny written down but it almost reduced me to tears, he was just baffled.

When we recovered ourselves he explained, as best he could, that part of what he thought he'd heard was that Sheepfolds should be flattened and the whole area redeveloped.

In reality none of those businesses have any need to be in that specific area and they certainly lend nothing to the riverscape.

The entire city of Sunderland should be thinking how they can get involved in helping the new people improve the place imo.

Who's the main culprit over there for questioning your info over there?

Sounds like the Italian version of 'allo 'allo! <laugh>.

Could re-develop brownfield sites in Hendon or Pennywell and relocate the businesses there. Puts companies in better facilities with better access to transport routes like A19.

As a city, we really under-utilise the riverside upstream of the town bridge.
