What should have simply happened to please the dummy spitters too is that we have referendum 1 as it was.. leave or stay.

Referendum 2.. once leave was voted for should have been a straight choice between the EU’s best offer or NO deal.

That way people have the choice over soft or hard Brexit.

Do you think if we remain that higher unemployment and us being poorer will be avoided? Do you think a hard Brexit is the catalyst for this? Or do you think these are things heading our way anyway because of continued austerity and increasing global trade tensions (very little of which is driven by Brexit)? I personally think some staunch remainers are being very canny to piggy back all the negative things they can onto Brexit. Some of which are heading are way anyway by the looks of it.

I mean I wouldn't go assuming that the experts who are predicting higher unemployment will be a by product of a hard brexit is correct. Afterall the same experts were forced to concede in March that their doomsday predictions regarding a huge spike in unemployment in the lead up to Brexit had never materialised and we'd actually hit a 44 year low. They simply said it was unfathomable this had happened, it was a result of backward looking data and they still believed their hard brexit predictions to be correct. The rest of the world sat and thought "you're just ****ing guessing aren't you? Either that or someone is telling you to predict the worst."

Look I'd like us to agree a deal, but this continued delay is not beneficial to anyone. I don't believe in a remain option and I don't believe it will come back around so we must therefore get one of the others over the line. We need some finality in order to move forward. So say you accept remain is no longer an option, what do you suggest to bring this to a close in terms of deal or no deal? Further delays?!

The world economy as a whole may take a downturn. Increasing the level of difficulty, cost and friction of doing business with our largest trading partner is very likely to produce an additional, quite large, downturn.

I don't think I stated a position in there did I? I simply played devils advocate and offered an alternate outlook on undetermined items being presented as cast in stone.

Stop pandering to the DUP.

If remain isn't an option, adopt the May deal with the amendment (which the EU has said they will accept) that in the event the backstop kicks in, Northern Ireland would remain subject to EU rules but the rest of the country wouldn't. That would cause a border in the Irish sea but that would be an inconvenience and not a real problem.

The EU isn't going to muck around in order to maintain control of the Northern Irish economy. The backstop will therefore either never kick in or be sorted out sooner or later. This is only an unacceptable option because the DUP say so.

You can't quote GDP as an indicator of anything other than how the individual country governs itself... However...

Noticeably the GDP of Iceland and Sweden, which I presume Brexiteers will use as justification of anything, will be massively boosted by tourism from the population of EU member states, and you have Norway on the other side of the coin flagging anyway... heck our GDP will include tourism from EU member states, because apparently people just have to come and see our **** weather for themselves. So what exactly is the point of using GDP as an argument?

Those countries doing well also have trade deals in place...

I mean, basically there is nothing that can be quoted that suggests Britain gets anything out of leaving the EU, except the square root of jackshit, and a bit of comfort for Daily mail readers that we might be able to stop these ****ing European doctors coming over here, saving our lives, the evil ****s.

Just have another vote ffs ... if its still what the people want now just leave no deal... who gives a **** what the people wanted 3 years ago. If its still what what the people want now fair enough otherwise i dont see the issue.

We won’t have to use those awful automatic passport machines anymore at EU airports. We can join the shorter queue.

We will be able to get more stuff from outside do the EU which should drop the price of purple dildos, whips and chains and of course.. your favourite... gimp masks.
 
If there was any indication that people would vote the other direction then I would support a referendum. I mean it when I say I support democracy, and if it looks like polls are pushing heavily for remain then its important to have that vote.

But, it doesn't look like that at all. Every single party bar the Lib Dems have suffered a massive poll battering as soon as they announce a remain platform; look at Labour, those Brexit Party percentages are in Labour seats more than Torie ones, and we are sitting here pretending that Corbyn can run a general election without losing all his previous gains.

So, far, there is absolutely no mandate for a second referendum, it is entirely sour grapes from the losing side.
