That's fine but it's a very divisive debate with a lot of people at the extreme of either end who's mind will never change and I think very few who are in the middle/undecided.

Just thought it was a bit unfair calling me out for it when it works both ways and at least I can generally put my views across pretty well most of the time.

I'm still waiting for a hardcore var advocate to tell me how they'll feel if we were to lose a cup final or be relegated by a blatantly wrong decision.

The same as when we lost a cup final due to a blatantly wrong offside decision

Which if watched 17 times could be construed as Bertrand interfering with play by distracting De Gea. Not likely admittedly but plausible, I've seen worse decisions given by var.

But yeah that's kinda my point, I think that's what made a lot of people's mind up so I'd be interested to see how they'd feel if it happened again with VAR in place.

Like I say I'm leaning towards if you're going to use it you may as well use it for everything.

VAR was made for goals like Watfords handball against us. The type of goal that comes round a couple times in a season. Shame it has to be switched on for the rest of the time.

It is. VAR is mostly okay, though needs refinement. The new handball rule is really stupid.

Var is here to stay guys.....wether you or I agree or not. We will see good decisions given because of Var and just as likely not agree with others. That my friends is football sadly. Much like it is today....the sad thing Is the time lost because of Var which will only aggravate the situation I'm thinking.

That city disallowed goal was absolutely ridiculous. I was actually up for giving it a go, but for me in two weekends we can see that there will be just as many bad decisions as before, except with a slower game.

Then, at the risk of repeating myself, what's the point of having it?

We've already had an example of a team being unfairly robbed by a poor decision. I thought the whole idea was to get the big decisions in the big games correct?

VAR is not to blame for the disallowed goal. It got the decision correct per the laws of the game as they are currently. By all means say the law is wrong if that's your opinion but VAR was correct in disallowing the goal.

Not completely up to speed with this, but assume the argument is about two 'handballs'....one for a defender and one for the attacker. I accept that not every handball is a penalty, but as far as I'm concerned any goal involving a handball (intentional or not) has to be disallowed.

I don't have any issues so far with the way it has been used in the PL this season.

I had a problem with the fact some fa cup ties used var if at pl grounds but other fa cup matches didn't. It also seemed very picky at the women's world cup.

Now it's consistent at all pl games, I am ok with the way I have seen it used so far this season.

    Indeed.

Interesting that VAR was introduced with the promise of better decisions yet they missed an absolute nailed on penalty.
