For my money, Huddersfield now have the best shirt in the league.
It takes a little while getting used to a shirt without a sponsor, but the stripes help. In an ideal world, sponsorship would disappear, but it won't.
Brilliant. Hope others follow their lead.
Too true mate, £55 for a t-shirt is just mental.Same, but I don't think they will. Clubs could easily provide a lot more exposure to the main 'shirt' sponsors without their logo appearing on shirts. It could appear on all videos/pictures/multi-media that's released by the club for example, or be more prevalent elsewhere around the ground (more so than already). Maybe on the inside of the kit, on the label perhaps so the club's fans still see it. I just think that most sponsors won't do this because of the global TV audience that will see their name on the front of kits.
It doesn't help that our current sponsor has a woeful logo and spoils the kits, but even so, the main reason I rarely buy a Saints shirt is because of the big sponsor all over the front (and the price).
So a betting firm gets more publicity by removing its sponsorship and we all read about it and praise their moral stance.
That gamble paid off!
