I sense another mood swing on the way.

All these rumours about Bowyer being offered this and that by other Clubs are beginning to look like so much nonsense.
If he signs a new contract at Charlton there will be a wave of over-the-top celebrating and 'told you so'ing from the usual suspects, as though the outcome was never in doubt and eveything was always going to be alright.

That's only a minor irritation compared to the general relief that such positive news will bring to all Charlton fans, but what the apologists will shut firmly away in the already bulging cupboard marked "things we don't think about anymore" is the fact that only Duchatelet would turn the straightforward matter of signing up the most successful young manager in our history into such an unnecessary f*cking drama.

Being happy that Bowyer has finally signed a new deal (when it happens) is one thing, and a feeling we will all share.
Presenting it as a triumph of good management from the Belgian when in reality it has been (as usual) the polar opposite is quite another. Fortunately most of us are well aware of the difference.

You are right @lardiman - if Bowyer signs a new contract the feeling will be one of relief, not jubilation.

The task facing him in the Championship under this clown of an owner is massive.
Bowyer will sign if the contract meets his requirements, which is fair enough.

However, he will swallow all the s*** from the Belgian as we are a free hit for him.

I think it's small faces
We get the lot bowyer and players signing new contracts or f@ck all

Apparently, Bowyer is back on holiday, fishing at his lakes. Is that good news or bad news?

Good for him.
He has been 100% loyal during last season, but when it comes to negotiating Lee Bowyer clearly doesn't take s**t from anybody, including Duchatelet and his lackey.

He's walked away now, which is a final challenge to RD.
The more time that now passes before the Club makes an announcement one way or the other, the less credible Duchatelet is going to look, and the more humiliated he is going to be if he does back down and give LB what he wants.

If Bowyer has really washed his hands of it and gone back on holiday, I expect a decision from the Club in the next 48 hours. Then we will know if saving face means more to RD than his newly professed love for Charlton.

PS:
I still don't believe in this latest take-over story.

I do genuinely think that Ivor has made a scoop here.
