And if you sack him he leaves on a free....where's the sense in that. Tweet doesn't exist now so must have been deleted.
To get him off the wage bill. His tweets indicated that he was going to stay for his last year picking up his wages. He’s worth 2/5’s of bugger all now anyway
Basically taking on all comers on Twitter in the aftermath of his undoubtedly provocative tweets about Liverpool, Van Dijk etc. Saying he was a better goal scorer than Ings, Long etc - maybe not untrue you may say but I know for sure that the club would take an extremely dim view of such public indiscretion.
Sounds like a man that has had his professional pride dented and doesn't have the intellect or social skills to deal with it. It's not easy when you fall from grace with fans that previously sang your name but he should've just turned off his phone/computer and walked away. He is probably mortified today though.
Arguing with fans is one thing, dissing team mates is a different matter. The trouble with putting things in print is that they can never be taken back or denied. Cancelling the tweets is just too late. Austin isn't a bad guy....he is involved with charities and encourages kids to take part in sport....but he is an accident waiting to happen. As I've said before I reckon he will be bankrupt within a short time of retiring...hope his wife is smart and has been squirrelling it away for the kids. Self inflicted but sad.
If Austin was to bring the club into disrepute, yes he could be sacked........and if Saints withheld his registration it would be career over for him. Not sure what he has done goes that far...... wouldn't have thought so..............
Warrants a slap on the wrist but not much more than that. Waking up knowing you've been an idiot and offended people you count as friends will hurt the most.
The fact that he has taken them down (and did last night), makes me think someone told him he was being a prat. Bet you anything you want that someone was probably another player.
He tweeted the Liverpool top pic then got **** loads of abuse. Instead of thinking nah **** the idiots he responded to loads of them. ****ted on his team mates saying he was a better goalscorer. Said something about not really caring as he has a fat wallet. Said a few other things that I can't remember It was really dumb ****
This news about Charlie’s posts has really shocked me. I always had him down as a sensible, intelligent young man, who only came to professional football late because he chose to finish his university degree first.
You can't blame him for getting his degree first.............Am I wrong didn't he get fined or some such at one of his other clubs for something similar........Swindon or Burnley or was it QPR.......maybe I'm getting him mixed up with someone else.
