Good News/Bad News The good news is that a potential obstacle in our pursuit of Ndombele appears to have been overcome, as Juventus have identified another target The bad news is that Juventus are in negotiations with Lazio to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, which is going to piss off one or two posters...
Good for him. Had a solid season by all accounts. I doubt the fee was more than 6 digits buy this is a good sign that we are cashing on on the academy products who just aren't going to cut it at PL level. Players like Ononah, Edwards, CCV etc. should be going for 7 digit sums.
Ogilvie is out of contract at the end of the season, so if a fee was agreed it was likely chicken feed Hopefully not literally
Would now be a bad moment to suggest that, as the summer window opened last week, technically we need a new thread?
Kept same one going...since Jan 2017...tis my greatest achievement... pleeeeaaaasssseeeee don't take it away from me
It's not like we've signed so many new players we have worn this thread out. In other words, nowhere no threadbare yet.
Accidentally clicked on the 1st page of this thread, which started well over 2 years ago now. Wow. The things we were talking about back then Incredible to think we have just witnessed an entire season with almost zero contribution from all 3 CMs mentioned here... Good call from Brian here... This is why we don't read gossip columns And yes, quite unbelievably 2 years on HE IS STILL AT THE BLOODY CLUB!!!
Two domestic league games ( + possible cup ties) against opponent X. Possible CL KO ties against opponent X, and Y. < sh*ts and giggles >
What a little bitch Salah was though, cried over a bruised shoulder. While our Gareth, dislocated his yet said "**** you" to the pain as he steered our boys to the World Cup semi final. Hero.
Thinking only of the season in front of you and not a minute beyond it is the main reason you can set your watch to Steptonho flaming out of a job before the end of his third season there
Looks like Josh Onomah may be off, as there's reports suggesting Sheffield Wednesday are preparing a bid to sign him
We are ready for another level i think i think its great that we sign potential but we need signings that are going to push our first team from game 1 next season. I just dont want signings that are going to disappear never to be seen again barring the odd Carabao cup experience. i dont care wether we spend a million or 70 getting them.
I don’t think we’re realistically looking for those types, we haven’t really bought a player like that since Nkoudou. Since then it’s either been first XI or strong squad players and most have come off to be fair: Gazzaniga, Aurier, Sanchez, Foyth, Lucas and Llorente. Of those only Aurier has been a real disappointment but on paper he was a top signing at the time. If we can continue down that route plus adding one or two elite players it should do us well.
