I think we need too use reverse psychology... when the boy reads this as he surely must .... Campbell is absolute dog ****e, never puts a shift in, leads the line badly, should have scored 35 this season... we don't want him...

The worst part of the Campbell situation is that it would appear he would be open to staying, plus I can't see him wanting ridiculous wages due to his injury record/age. Dicko must be on more than the alledged salary cap of 10k, to even think about offering FC less is disgusting, especially for a player of his quality who puts a shift in everytime he steps out in a City shirt.

Burnsy thinks we’re offering him a third of what he was on previously.

The average wage across all Championship clubs is £8,250 per week, but the average wage in starting XI's nearer to £20k per week.

Villa was the highest on the last list I saw, their average wage across the entire squad was £26,566 per week.
Isnt that mathamatically impossible? Suppose it depends in the squad size but does not work with 30 players. Or does it work if you have a squad of say 40 players? And the villa wage must be a mistake?

Just asking but what are clubs paying?
Not the boro’s etc but others

Not £6k a week.

Balance of probability. Clubs with wealthier owners who want to do well will pay more than the Championship average, which as OLM said is around £8k. We will need to pay a bit more because of our lack of attractiveness (we don't have owners with ambition, we're quite an isolated area, not exactly a metropolitan city, probably not going to be promoted) and in order to compete with other clubs. We need to, but that doesn't mean we are going to.
Players dropping down from the PL aren't going to be wanting to go from £25k a week (for example) to £8k a week. If we are going to be offering £5k or £6k a week, it's going to be difficult to attract players of known quality. It might change depending on who it is we are trying to sign (for example, a League 2 player might see that as tripled wages), but I doubt there's a lot of wiggle room.

The squads contain a few youngsters who will be on hundreds of pounds a week, which probably drags the average down a little.
