Ortiz would still be a better option than Price though. And from what I gather, Hearn and Joshua really want to break into the US where the big bucks are on offer and so needed an American opponent. And with Wilder and Fury (even though he's on outsider) out of the picture, they really didn't have too many options.

Would have been the best possible replacement of the ones on offer

I'm still waiting for Joshua to fight someone who isn't over the age of 40 and of limited ability.

I'm not too sold on Michael Hunter just yet. He was a pretty decent cruiser weight who's made a nice start to his heavyweight career, having posted 4 wins. His best win to date at HW was his demolition of Alexander Ustinov last November. Hunter put Ustinov down twice before stopping him in 9. Ustinov was 41 years of age. Hunter isn't ranked in the top 10 by the WBC, WBA and WBO and is No 10 with the IBF.

Hunter is a man with a future and there is a pretty big push for him in the US, but I think there are a number of people who deserve a shot before him.

Just one man's limited opinion. :)

When I look at who my favourite heavyweight of all time-Lennox Lewis. And who he fought. Joshua is going to be past his sell by date before he ever fights anyone of any substance.

Apparently Dubois ko'd Joshua in training. Something I expect someone to do in the ring sooner or later

This weekend Deontay "The Brown Bomber" Wilder but his WBC title on the line against the man he detests, Dominic "Trouble" Breazeale.

There could be some heat in this bout as Wilder has stated. “His life is on the line for this fight, and I do mean his life,” Wilder said. “I’m still trying to get me a body on my record. … This is the only sport where you can kill a man and get paid for it at the same time – it’s legal. So why not use my right to do so?”

Win, lose or draw, Wilder comes off as a ****er.

That is disgusting. I hope he loses. I hope he gets a massive fine for bringing the sport into disrepute

Wilder and Baby Miller are cut from the same rancid cloth.

Disgusting comments from Wilder but I hope he still wins. The heavyweight division is bad enough without one of the so called 'best' losing to a bum!

Currently on the train to Glasgow for tonight's show. My first ever visit to the city and I can't wait for the boxing. Might be the only time Inoue fights on these shores, I just had to go.

Thanks. Glad to be back. I managed without my phone for about 3 months until my wife got sick of been the messenger between myself and everyone else. Kids and iPads was a whole different challenge. Managed to wean them off them and now they are used as a treat and also a good tool as a punishment (banning use of them I mean, not hitting them with iPads). My eldest also needs an ipad for his homework at school, he's bloody six! I think it was captain pops who pointed out that I was fighting a losing battle and it appears he was right but I had to try. We can't live without technology it seems. All I can do is make sure my kids don't live on the things and get them out of the house as much as possible.

Yep,welcome back Smoke. I have to admit, I'm as jealous as anything about your night out mate. I'm a huge fan of Naoya Inoue. I hope "Monster" gets the job done.

I see Josh Taylor is a 4s on shot. He's a classy athlete who hopefully wins as well.

They both should win but are both fighting top quality opposition. I can't wait to see Inoue in action, really can't see him being on these shores again. Japan or America from here on in I think. Josh Taylor looks a star and a class act and gets his chance at a World title tonight. Should be a great atmosphere.
