I see the EFL have been really helpful by ordering Bolton to fulfill their remaining fixtures. Apparently the only players not owed money are their youth team players. I'm no fan of Bolton or their fans (1983, you bastards) but I wouldn't wish this **** on any supporters, well all right, with maybe one exception!
What happens if they don't?

Right now the EFL are telling them to use youth players for the next two matches if the first team won’t play.
What would happen if the youth players refused to play I don’t know

I really feel the EFL are not getting to the crux of the matter which is players are not being paid. To say that they need to play the youth team is a cop out, they need to start protecting the integrity of our game.

Someone completely new has just come in to buy the club, Bassini has until Monday to complete his deal, hopefully he’ll keep ****ing about and the new people will get it.

Hopefully the uncertainty will drag on and BWFC will continue to exist in a state of chaos, ensuring their continued decline and angry fans.

Apparently the youth players haven't been paid either and the 1st team players have been helping them with transport costs etc

Bolton Wanderers takeover on verge of collapse

Laurence Bassini’s proposed takeover of Bolton Wanderers is on the verge of collapse with the former Watford owner yet to contact the club this afternoon before a 5pm deadline to produce proof of the funds required to complete the deal.

Ken Anderson, the Bolton owner, set a firm deadline over the weekend due to doubts about whether Bassini has the money to buy the club after he failed to fulfil a pledge to pay the players their wages for March last week, which led to the postponement of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship game against Brentford.

What a mess , considering all the money in the game there should be some provision so the players and staff get paid
and the club can fulfill their fixtures

Laurence Bassini, the prospective Bolton Wanderers owner, is meeting EFL bosses on Tuesday to prove he has funds to complete a takeover.
From a Bolton fans point of view, I expect they'll be happy to take whatever/whoever they can get if it means their club survives this crisis.

A bit like ourselves really. Some of us strongly suspected the Allams were dodgy, but we lapped it up at the time because we didn't have any other options.

The EFL bosses will know this and without any other viable alternative, what do we expect them to do?

It certainly is an interesting article, but their demise is very much the likely outcome if not managed correctly, but is the conundrum most owners have in the championship, do you stick or twist, For clubs that don't have parachute payments, it is hard to compete.

This is why in City's case it really does make you scratch your head why the Allam's have stuck their head in the sand over concessions and are happy to see gates drop, and revenue. Worryingly, I think we know the reason, because if City drop into Division 1 which is highly probable, then the Allam's will just say it is all the fans fault as they stayed away, revenue drops and therefore the club sufferers.

In some ways, the Allam's are managing some things in the right way, but the key issues they are getting wildly wrong. They are not maximising revenue, which reinstating concessions would start to rectify, and healing relationships with the supporters. In addition, allow the manager to have the control of who we buy or loan, in order that we start the season with a full squad.

Anybody can run a business that at least breaks even in the short term by placing it into a financial straight jacket, however if that business fails to address its stakeholders/customers and provide what they are seeking, your customer base inevitably dwindles, you become unprofitable, therefore eventually unsustainable, and in essence its the beginning of the end. Our owners (as they have stated) will manage the club within its revenue and gross profitability parameters, not invest a further single penny, and are therefore doing two things. One,City is now dying a slow death, and secondly they are demonstrating in football terms how NOT to run a professional football club that possesses any ounce of ambition!

In football terms they have enjoyed unsurpassed success over their term of ownership, and at face value owe everything to the football people they employed, that said the fact they will leave (hopefully sooner rather than later) the club with absolutely zero assets is testament to their inability to build value and in doing so strengthen clubs balance sheet. Their only legacy worth any note is the development of the football academy, and even that's based at a third partys' premises!
