As Mike Dean celebrates his first 100 red cards the stats show he doesn't always favour the big clubs!

Teams Dean has shown most red cards to

    Chelsea 9
    Manchester City 9
    Newcastle United 7
    Arsenal 6
    Stoke City 5
    Tottenham 5
    West Brom 5
    Birmingham 4
    Charlton 4
    Manchester United 4
    Sunderland 4

Don't know how many he's given Saints but it's less than 4

England up to 4th in world ranking...about right as we can beat most teams...just usually not in tournaments :)

Tottenham defender Danny Rose says he "can't wait to see the back of football" and is frustrated at the lack of action taken against fans' racism.
The left-back said: "When countries get fined what I probably spend on a night out in London what do you expect?"
"How I programme myself is that I think I've got five or six more years left in football, and I just can't wait to see the back of it," he added.

Whilst it is rather sad that we are still talking about the problem of racism in football, I find Danny's comments a bit strange. People suffer racist abuse in all sorts of minimum wage jobs in this country, and struggle to get away from it. So rather than wish your career away and take you privileged position for granted, stand with us and fight to get rid of racism for good.

I absolutely agree with you, but put yourself in Rose’s shoes for a moment. International footballers live in a goldfish bowl, where any incident such as what happened in Montenegro is amplified, shown repeatedly on countless TV shows, discussed by millions, and analysed to death. When the authorities then fail to take any meaningful action to sort out what’s wrong with football, let alone society in general (racist far-right rabble-rousers given a platform right outside Parliament etc., etc.), is it any wonder Danny Rose finds the situation intolerable?

The international stage is the head of the problem. The fines are so feeble, that you can see why he thinks there's no action being taken. But comparing that fee to his 'night out' surely ostracises a lot of people who suffer the same abuse as him on a daily basis.
Was in two minds if to post, because I understand how sensitive the subject is.

Was it a red card? I know Var intervened but I didn't see the incident.

Seen them given. Downward movement while heads touching.
Silly thing to do, but got away with it.

Good example of why var won't stop bias towards the big clubs though.

Seen them given. Walker rubbed his forehead down Jahanbaksh’s forehead. Looked worse in real time than in slow motion.

You would say that given your bias against VAR.

Am I wrong then? With a different official or maybe a different day or even the opposite end those will be given as a straight red so it's not going to stop anything in that regard.

Except that the VAR official gets various replays so it greatly increases the chances of getting to the correct decision.

Not sure who I want to win this, but I think I want City to win all four. Despite, or perhaps because of, my residency here. I think they’d be really deflated too, so we can finish above them.
