A statement of fact actually (Spurs recently played lesser teams on the way to getting ready for three games with the PL defending champions - and current PL leaders) . Feel free to come by and be corrected at any time.
Danny Rose says he can't wait to see the back of football due to racism. Is he retiring and giving up his pay?
I think the whole team should just walk off if it starts and UEFA should support that. What makes me think they wouldn't. I think you can see from the comments of the Montnegro manager and the Italian captain that they really don't get it. Don't just fine these teams just remove them from competition until they are civilised enough to take part.
The part where he looks for sympathy by comparing the fines imposed for racism to "what I spend on a night out in London" just underlines how wildly out of touch with reality he is. By comparison Raheem Sterling has handled the whole ordeal with a lot of dignity and common sense.
It does and it diverts people from the real issue. They will end up talking about Rose spending 50.000 on a night out. His honesty is good but his naivety is damaging.
Indeed. I am sure many thousands of people who had sympathised with him stopped caring at that point. I hate to admit it but I certainly did, despite being from an ethnic minority myself. His honesty is the main reason he can never be captain. There is a certain diplomatic art to handling the media which players like Kane and Dele show in abundance. Can you imagine the kind of things Rose would cone out with in a press conference??
Unfortunately, in that situation we would have been thrown out or docked points for our idiots: https://cartilagefreecaptain.sbnati...urs-news-son-heung-min-racism-wembley-stadium
We need to identify the morons and isolate them but on the way to that we have to make the clubs realise that this a problem they have to take very seriously. You could lay down procedures for clubs to put in place and their compliance to them could be part of the decision of how to deal with the club and their supporters. Stewards should surely be able to identify the idiots and the police could be involved on the spot. The same way they dealt with the hooligans in the 70's.
The more I see and read about Sterling, I can't help but like the lad - Playing superbly for club and country, and standing up to the idiots with just the right tone, and I know he can afford it but the story about all those kids going to semi final tomorrow is just great PR too.
It is and fair play to him for that gesture. But then again, he probably looked at the 8,000 odd empty seats the other night and thought of ways to rent a crowd
