Out of that list, my choice would be ...

    1. Darren Moore

    2.David Wagner

    3. Kenny Jackett.

    They all know this league.

    Of the others ...

Rowett - No. He is anti-football and abused Forest fans. It would be like having JFH back.

Pardew - No, end of. He's style of management is out of date and boring.

Moyes - Like Holloway, is a bit mental and is too obsessive and gives the players no freedom. Obsessed by player's diets.

Sherwood - He's a bit of a character but none of our fans want him. Speaks of himself in the third person.

Ainsworth - Too much of a hero for me and wouldn't like to see his legacy tainted if he failed.

Warburton - I wouldn't of minded when he left Brentford but has done nothing since leaving them. Hasn't been involved in the game since being sacked by Forest on New Years Eve 2017.

    Barton - No!

Holloway - No! He's mental, what kind of manager offers his own and away fans out? He completely lost the plot and doesn't know how to get a result away from home. Bizarre team selections and tactics and too many losing runs, the blokes a nutcase. I've been to too many fans forum's meetings with him and he blamed us for expecting too much too soon. Eh, no we didn't. Always liked him until I got the chance to meet him. He's a bit like the Ben Kingsley character in 'Sexy Beast' looks like him as well. Not a nice bloke. His wife Kim is a very nice lady though.

Harry Redknapp - No! No no no no no no! Has anyone seen those series of adverts with him in lately? Go Daddy. One of our prominent poster's appears with him in the background. <sorry> mate, I couldn't resist it :emoticon-0148-yes: <hug> :emoticon-0131-angel:emoticon-0131-angel:emoticon-0131-angel

McClaren has always seemed popular with the players. Both Angel and Cameron tweeted praise on him yesterday.

What makes anyone think Kenny Jackett would come here? Only chance is if Pompey do not get through the playoffs...would we wait...doubt it?
Ainsworth, love him like we do...has not got a good enough track record
Wagner..could work especially with BFG already here.
Warburton acts a bit as a nutter.
Moyes and Pardew are like Holloway, Redknapp, McClaren a spent force.

Rowett gets results but I'm sure I would feel like I was watching JFH again.

Really only leaves Moore...but he was sacked by WBA for a reason...they were on a pretty unimpressive run...and they have far better players than us.

Wonder if Fat Sam is about?

Anyway I am seriously unimpressed by what is on offer...

But stating as before...anyone but Sherwood, he has done nothing....appears to be on a serious downward spiral, has an arrogant streak larger than west London....but I fear that it will be him...as SLF has been pushing him for years now....if you want to get rid of SLF(I don't) allow him Sherwood and they will go down together.

I must admit I haven't renewed...and will deeply consider it...if Sherwood is appointed

In that case the players should be asking themselves why they've delivered such a poor run of matches

Interesting though that neither Rangel nor Cameron have been involved In the majority of the matches in our poor run but have publically shown support for SM

Have a good long look at barnsleys lutons and Lincoln's managers
Then discard them and go for a name
Has worked for us so far
    Is Terry venables still alive
With him and Guinness we could be unstoppable

Key criteria will undoubtedly be demonstrable experience in developing young players, and managing a (very) small budget

That's the reality of our position for the next few seasons and we need to make a managerial appointment that matches this

I've no idea who this might be, but this thread contains many names that it won't be

Can we afford to be picky? We're not much of a draw with a small stadium, small (but loyal) fan base and a mahoosive debt blowing a hole in the finances.

I don't want Sherwood but it could be worse, they could be considering John Terry!

I tend to agree. I think it might be Sherwood but we'll see. If he could get the players to manifest some of his arrogance on the pitch that would be good. Our team has been collectively so meek and mild for many years now. That said it's clear he'd be too divisive and I wouldn't put it past some of our fans to boo him from the off. Problem is I think some of the options being discussed like Wagner just aren't feasible.

With no budget and a DoF on hand for no particular reason, it will be someone of no great importance, a younger upcomer type from league one or below.

We could appoint anyone but in truth, we just need someone who can get the players playing for him.

DoF is the best job in football. No accountability for anything. The board should look at SLF's record since he came in. Whatever it is he's doing it's not translating to any success on the pitch and there is zero sign of any progress whatsoever.

The more I read about Danny Cowley, the more I like this suggestion. Won three promotions in seven years at Concord Rangers, including promotion in his first year. Then took Braintree to their highest ever league finish in the National League. Then gets Lincoln promoted back to League Two in his first year in charge, casually reaching the FA cup QFs in the same year (first non-league team to do so). Won the EFL trophy at Wembley in April 18. Finished 7th in their first year back in League Two, and are set to win League Two this year.

Young, hungry, successful. Brilliant track record. Will presumably be able to spot lower league talent (which is where we can afford to fish) more easily than a washed up premier league manager.

Why are we not all clamouring for the club to appoint Danny Cowley? We may have a job on our hands persuading him to leave Lincoln, however.

    Presumably more affordable, initially, too.

Like his record but there is a significant step up to the championship for a lower league manager.
