You don't have to go all the way but how about a bit of T's 'strong and stable'? You are all over the shop matey!. Last week you were asked a direct question and told us you would support May's deal. Now all of a sudden a few die hard Breximorons decide they are going to block it come what may and you've reverted back to type. For Gawd's sake make up your mind. I assume the press will publish the list of names of those who vote against a deal. The people will want to know. And there is nobody left to blame if it does not work out for the UK as swimmingly as you've told us it would.

May is suppressing parliamentary debate on other Exit options promised, last time, for yesterday, which may have a majority in the Commons given some time for them to be examined together , discussed and agreed on. In her letter to the EU, she ignores her own Parliament passed motion for a longer extension if she doesn't get her deal through, after having it already heavily defeated twice. Further she is looking like she is also planning to ignore the passed Pariamentary votes for no deal, both in March or ever.

Most of her own MP's seem to hate her, let alone the Opposition, particularly after her statement last night. The Commons needs to come together urgently to get her out, and find a solution they can agree on before 29 March that the EU will extend longer for, otherwise there needs to be a new election or referendum agreed in the next week, or failing that a revokation of Article 50. I believe that the process could be started again if/when a version of Brexit that commands a majority is found.

No new referendum, no revoking article 50, and most MP’s realise that due to their behaviour these last few weeks if there is a general election they will be on the scrap heap, they will hope and pray Brexit is delivered and the voting masses settle down and have other things on their minds by the time a general election comes round.
Mays leadership cannot be challenged within the Tory party until December this year, and if Labour go into a general election with comrade Jezzbollah in charge they know deep down even with an incompetent like May in control they have somewhere between not a chance and humiliation as the result.

What an extraordinary attack from May, acting like a cornered animal, on just about everyone last night. The descent into low farce continues apace, now we have the last scene from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, with the EU which is pretty chaotic itself, what passes for a UK government, and a bunch of tossers calling themselves the British Parliament in a stare down.

Except it’s The Ugly, the Ugly and the Ugly. And nobody knows if their pistol is loaded, and if it is there is a 50% chance that it will blow up in their face.

Meanwhile the leader of the opposition flounces out of a meeting because some other non entity who has left his shambolic party is in the room. Behaving like the 1970s trade union junior official (he’s not organised or charismatic enough to have been a shop steward) that he is at heart, on the grounds that ‘the terms agreed for the meeting’ had been broken. Kinder, gentler politics my arse. Still holding true to his promise to use dialogue to reduce conflict, except when that dialogue involves talking to people who he doesn’t agree with. ****er. Not, of course, that the meeting would have made any difference, with or without him.

The EU will be reluctant to grant a longer extension due to the forthcoming European elections. If, on July 2nd, we are still part of the EU with no representation, this could (and almost definately would) face a legal challenge, either from a politician or a citizen. If we vote in the elections, the EU need to revise their seat allocations to accommodate the UK. They would also, perhaps, due to a likely protest vote versus a split EU supporting vote, face the prospect of a huge contingent of anti EU MEPs in their midst.

Catherine Blaiklock, leader of the Brexit Party (which has been touted on here to gain numerous seats in the event of a pre-Brexit General Election), has had to quit over Islamophobic tweets.

    Plus ça change.........

I think my position is crystal clear. I don't think May's deal will get through on a third vote - if I'm wrong it will be a relief, because we're out and can move on to the FTA stage.

While we wait to hear, ramp up preps for no deal and come out asap but in the next 3 months if May's deal fails

Who touted that? I said A Brexit Party, not THE Brexit Party would do well if Brexit is denied, particularly if they can all unite under one banner

Maybe it was the dear, departed Ellers. How do you see a Brexit party coalescing, then? The ERG (which Kenneth Clarke considers to be a separate party already) breaking away from the Tories and joining Farage's rabble?

I realise that recent statements emanating from the EU have gone down like a lead balloon in this country. But I suspect that the reason for the hardening of their stance is twofold. First they are sick to the teeth of Brexit and can't wait to see the back of us. That has to a large extent I suspect been fuelled by exasperation with the arrogance of believing that they depend on us for economic survival and that we are in a position to dictate terms. The House of Commons may have indulged itself at the expense of what it is supposed to do ie get on with passing legislation. The EU is no longer willing to do so.

Secondly they have quietly got on with preparations for their worst case scenario. They are therefore now ready to set a deadline and intend to stick to it. Tell me I am wrong.

I wasn’t referring specifically to Brexit when describing the EU as chaotic. Remainers (like me) have a tendency to look at all things EU through rose tinted glasses, but it has serious and deep rooted problems which it’s not really addressing. I hope it does, because a strong EU is good for non members as well.
