Yes. Posted about this on a thread a long time ago. But I will mention it again as it reflects well on Scott Walker as someone who had time for his fans and his attitude, which spoke well of him, when you think of recent events regarding celebrities taking advantage of their fans.
A girl at our youth club, who was 14 or 15 at the time. wrote to Scott Walker after his first appearance on TV. I think it was the Walker Brothers singing Pretty Girl Everywhere on Ready, Steady, Go! The record never did much but she got a letter back from Scott Walker saying thank you and it was the first fan letter he had got in England. Some time later a letter arrived for her. It was from Scott Walker. There were two ticketsfor the Walker Brothers concert at Leeds and an invitation to meet him back stage. He enclosed two tickets so she could take her mother as someone else who was older as he understood a parent being concerned about a young girl going off to meet someone. Class act.
Poor lass died from a brain haemorrhage when she was about 30.
