Some more info on no-deal tariffs - believe it or not !!!! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...-Deal-Brexit-tariffs-really-mean-Britain.html
To quote RR statement ”We are made of sterner stuff” are we really that naive to really believe that? The older generation may be but we are now in the snowflake generation that when I filled out a survey recently there was nearly as many options on gender as on age brackets. Everyone needs to stop thinking we came together after the war, Britain is no longer built that way. We need to stop believing it because these political correctness brigade are simply our future generation The EU came around to unite Europe to prevent the repeat of the world wars that funny enough was called “World” but focused mainly on us Europeans not getting on. Only because some other countries got in on the act as Europe was weakened fighting itself, it gets the name World. Great Britain gets its name due to the make up of countries not because it’s Great. Bit like Greater London and Greater Manchester. And I may be wrong on this so I apologise before hand, but ain’t England, Scotland and Wales just Britain? No I don’t want another referendum, what I want is stupid politicians to stop bickering and voting against things for their own political gain and remember that their sole purpose in that job is to look after the people of this country. What would be interesting would be to find out why people on here actually voted to leave or remain? But without anybody commenting on people’s reply. No news clips from various sources people’s genuine reason.
I voted to remain after much soul searching and research. I don’t particularly LIKE the Brussels regime - all the reasons given to vote against it are valid, but I voted the way i did because simply there was no information available about what the alternative would be. Lots of speculation and hypothesis from Brexiteers about ‘the E.U. being desperate to do a deal with us’ and all these other nations queuing up to do a deal, but no hard facts. I have to say that for now - RIGHT now if there was a second (fourth) referendum I would still vote Remain. There is still NO clear template for what the UK would look like outside the E.U. I am a ‘better the devil you know’ person if you like. Those are my reasons - I consider myself a ‘reluctant’ Remainer!!!!
We have just voted down a ‘no deal’ Brexit. So that’s ‘no’ to May’s deal and ‘no’ to ‘no deal’. That’s an extension to Article 50 then I assume. Limbo for a few more months - even years - whilst businesses organise their new headquarters somewhere stable.
Parliament has now conned, the (majority) of people that voted to leave the EU, by voting down the "no deal" IMO...Democracy is no longer.. Talk about borders in NI.....think they might be needed everywhere!!!
I voted remain exactly for the same reason!! There was no way the EU would make it easy for us and so it has panned out!! I wouldn't be surprised if they said Bollocks to an extension even if it were asked for. I know I'll probably live to regret it, but I really couldn't give a toss any more!!
I am on the opposite side of the fence, I voted leave because we will become a vassel state to the EU, an order taker, not decision maker, the idiots in parliament have betrayed and lied to this nation, have stolen and ignored my vote and the majority of this nation votes for their own gain, that makes them thieves, liars and traitors, I despise them all and for the first time in my life I consider voting a waste of time. They are a shifty, shady, selfish bunch of low, stinking liars and I think there should be some way of prosecuting them for their filthy crimes.
I didn't vote as I was at Glastonbury but if I had I would have 100% voted leave. I believed a lot of what Farage said at the time, I watched Brexit: The Movie and was pretty much convinced that we would be able to have total control over our laws, trade, etc. I also thought it would be better to have further controls to manage immigration. I didn't realise we actually are allowed to have them now, we just choose not to. In case you haven't noticed, I changed my mind . A good trade deal with all of these global economies again won't happen in my lifetime. Immigration will barely be reduced, and it's likely to be far more from Asian countries than European in the event of Brexit. Our negotiating position is completely weak. If it was a Brexit where we had access to the EU Single Market and still could make trade deals with the rest of the world I could back that within reason. But that Brexit is just a unicorn, fantasy Brexit. As we all know, it's just not possible.
You ain’t seen nothing yet,The Tory’s and Labour Party are history. The people will rise up and watch these shady characters squirm
I wish you were right regarding the first point RR, dividing politics and including smaller parties would be better in my opinion. But there is absolutely not going to be an uprising . If you do riot can you promise to avoid my house please .
And for those that don’t think being in the EU is a rip off, read this. As I won’t buy a VW Golf, but would buy a Samsung TV, this is a win for me..
I have voted Labour all of my life, I am a member of the Labour Party , I will be cancelling my membership and they will have one heck of a fight on their hands to win back my vote. I’m not a lover of Teresa May, I don’t like her politics , but I do believe she has tried to deliver Brexit . If we don’t leave the political class will have let down the electorate and made an ass of democracy, it may take a long time to gain the confidence back in our political system, after all why bother voting at all if the outcome is ignored, Which ever way you voted , I don’t understand why anyone would not want our politicians to act upon the outcome, because the alternative is anarchy.
I agree mate - but the con was everywhere - £350m for the NHS indeed - even Nigel Farage himself was embarrassed being associated with this slogan - because it was utter 80110x. Surely nobody would be gullible enough to believe that guff???? To be fair - I might have done - if I’d actually seen it at the time. I only read about it afterwards. As has been said before - we can only base our decisions on what we are told. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.th...amble-brexit-dividend-nhs-raises-remain-anger All of us can now only wait and see what the spineless tw@s in Westminster deliver. Don’t hold your breath.........
So what is it? Meaningful vote 3 and maybe 4 next week?! Starting to lose its meaning to be honest...
The Labour party have failed in their duty and manifesto pledge. I am a trade unionist and Labour voter. It will make little difference in Bristol but I too will have difficulty in voting Labour again at this point. In Labour voting and labour Leave voting areas of the Country and there are many, Labour will experience a similar drain of votes as it has experienced in Scotland.
I’ve never aligned myself to a party, or ideology. I’m what is known as a ‘floating voter’. In my time I have voted for all 3 of the main parties. I feel passionately that it is everybody’s DUTY to vote because that privilege is precious. However, if there was a GE tomorrow I would genuinely struggle. Usually there is one party which looks less awful than the others, so that makes up my mind. This time they are all equally as incompetent and downright awful as each other.
