Is this the first time we've had a whole week between games for about 4 years? I'm under no illusions that a week on the training field will make a huge difference but this has been a gruelling run. I'm not finished worrying about this season yet but next season is a scary prospect.
When we played them two years ago ( April 2017 ) and lost 3-1 Holloway was crossing the pitch to get to the dressing room in front of our fans. It was another poor performance and the fans let him know it. His reaction was to hold his hands at waist height, palms up and curls his fingers repeatedly towards himself as he mouthed 'Come on then.'
How was Eze’s performance? The last few games I’ve been to, indeed I’d say in all the homes games since we played Millwall, I think he’s been increasingly poor. Maybe the expectation is too much. He’s clearly talented but seems, too often, lackadaisical and his first touch frequently sees the ball bounce away/off him back to the opposition.
From the highlights I have seen on TV. Penalty looked harsh - it looked to me that the Brentford player barged into our player, came off worse and then penalty awarded. Second goal - Lumley rushed out but where was the defence? This just left open space where the Brentford player tapped in and the third a deflection. At start of the season Steeve did state that we were a top 18 Division 1 side based upon previous seasons. Bear in mind how many players have gone out on loan, we have little wriggle room with players coming in to replace tired players . Injuries haven't helped. Neither has a game every coupe of days. A break from playing should give the players a chance to recover from niggly injuries and tiredness.
He'd help now and then...he also did a bit in the programme stall...mostly he was in the front bar though...you still get to go?
Sadly spot on. I remember a few years ago, rather arrogantly, teasing a Brentford fan saying that we might take them over. I can now see the reverse being more likely if things continue in the directions they are heading.
What I find frustrating is that after our goal in the Leeds match, we started passing the ball around well, players moving off the ball etc and looked a good team. We know they can do it. Agree entirely, Freeman is vital to the cause, but when we had Cameron and Rangel playing, we were scorching a path up the table. We're thin on talent in the squad so that when we have injuries, there are bare patches in the team (neither Cousins or Scowen convince me).
Cousins has done ok recently Credit where it is due Eze needs a period on the bench. If we had bought him 6/8 games ago everyone on here would be screaming saying why are we playing him. Let's get safe then give him another run of games ready for next season I love him by the way
