That is just not fair Mate as on Tuesday they all busted a gut for the win. I was expecting more from today. Silly me.
Really disappointed about losing by 3 goals in a local derby, especially when Brentford aren't actually that good. SM needs to buck up his ideas as it's becoming too acceptable to lose by 3 goals or more. Not good enough.
Stoke, Rotherham and Bolton are our next three home games, 7 points should be enough to see us safe...
A poor result today. On the bright side we have a full week break next week and a more promising fixture list (if we’re up for it). Entirely possible to achieve our 50pts by the end of the month. So come on Rrrrs ... step up the anti now!
We started 5-4-1 with Wszolek doing a great job on Benhrama (spelling?) but it totally defies belief you’d play Eze wide right in that formation when he has Bright on the bench so we had no outlet. Freeman was off his game but showed glimpses. Wells had no service. Luongo was ok defensively but abysmal in their half. Cousins looked like a competition winner again. He’s scared of the football. The penalty looked incredibly soft and until then Brentford showed very little. Stroud seemed desperate to leave his mark on the game after a quiet first half and followed the pen up with some rank awful decisions with no help from his linesmen. Lumley kept up any pretence of being in the game with a simply incredible save point blank. Hemed and Smith were both irrelevant. Bright had our one shot on target and looked hungry as he always does. Just play him.
I don't believe you can justifiably make that accusation against SM. The team usually put in max effort, most of them just aren't that good.
This isn’t the first away game this season where if it was Holloway we’d be tearing strips off them. McLaren has to be criticised for the tactics, selection and how we played. It was as poor as it gets.
Agree Hayling Island head seems to get away with losing by 3 goals or more. It really has become the norm and acceptable. If it was Hollow, we would give him stick.
The result doesn’t really bother me. 3 was harsh as Brentford were poor for most of the game but it’s the performance again that was unacceptable. People will hammer Eze but he was painfully out of position and we were so deep he had no chance.
Good job we had a good first half of the season or we'd be down with the Tractor Boys now. We have to accept that the bulk of our squad just isn't good enough and the Rangel and Cameron injuries have exposed our real weakness...
